Position Summary

The Receiving Associate is responsible for ensuring that all incoming materials are accurately received, inspected, documented, and stored according to company procedures. This role supports smooth operational flow by maintaining organized receiving processes and performing company vehicle pickups, deliveries, and material transfers as assigned. The position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety practices, and consistent coordination with internal teams.

Department: Shipping and Receiving
Reports To: Team Lead / Supply Chain Supervisor
Shift: First Shift (Daytime, Monday–Friday)
FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Receiving Duties

  • Receive, unload, and verify count and condition of incoming shipments for accuracy, damage, or discrepancies.
  • Verify packing lists, purchase orders, and quantities.
  • Document all received materials in the inventory management system with accuracy.
  • Label, stage, and store items in designated locations.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams to resolve receiving discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
  • Operate company vehicles safely for deliveries, pickups, and material transfers between facilities or vendors.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Support responses to quality issues and participate in corrective action efforts as needed.
  • Assist with production‑related projects, problem‑solving activities, and improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to efficiency, waste‑reduction, and process‑optimization efforts.
  • Support compliance with quality standards, inspection methods, and documented procedures.


Training, Safety & Team Collaboration

  • Complete all required annual and ongoing training.
  • Participate in routine safety, quality, and job‑skills training activities.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and leadership to meet department and company objectives.
  • Promote and follow safe work practices, including proper use of PPE.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Authority & Decision Rights

  • Responsible for performing assigned work according to established procedures and quality requirements.
  • Expected to escalate equipment, safety, or quality concerns to the Team Lead in a timely manner.


Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Accuracy of MRB entries and counts
  • Participation in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Safety compliance and attendance


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Basic computer skills; familiarity with Job Boss is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or within a team.
  • Effective communication and time‑management skills.
  • Must be a U.S. person as defined under ITAR regulations.
  • Must not be a prohibited person under the Gun Control Act (18 U.S.C. § 922(g)).


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous warehouse, receiving, or material‑handling experience.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
  • Prior experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.


Security & Regulatory Requirements

  • This position requires access to hardware and/or technical data governed by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Employee must meet all ITAR eligibility requirements.
  • Employee must meet requirements under the Gun Control Act (GCA), 18 U.S.C. § 922(g).


Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Exposure to production‑floor conditions, including noise and machinery.


Work Schedule & Expectations

  • Full‑time hourly position.
  • First shift (Monday–Friday daytime).
