- We prefer the candidate to be based in our headquarters located in Champaign, IL, however, we are open to a remote role based in USA.
A successful candidate will play a significant role in shaping our technology stack, and data-driven vision to help clients optimize their fermentation and purification processes to the level of scalable commercial manufacturing.
This role will be working in the data science team, while closely interacting with the fermentation scientists and process development engineers to develop cloud-based apps/ETL pipelines to manage fermentation data, generate datasets for machine-learning models, and dashboards for visualizing day-to-day operational insights.
We are a service business, and client retention and satisfaction are core to our business model. Prospective candidates should understand that success requires technical expertise, but it also involves empathy, prompt communication, and a general can-do attitude to solving open-ended challenges.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain scalable cloud-based architecture (applications, ETL pipelines and databases) to support the day-to-day operational activities of fermentation engineers.
- Develop solutions to parse unstructured scientific data from laboratory equipment and scientific literature, and organize them in databases for data science applications.
- Design scalable, reusable APIs and dashboard for our internal development and future customers.
- Design, develop, and maintain web applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, and leave them in a better shape you found them in.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies.
- Effectively use Agile practices to plan and track your work.
- Be judicious in balancing supporting immediate needs with long term infrastructure requirements.
