About the role

  • We are seeking a highly motivated entry-level Engineer to join our bioprocess team.

What you'll do

  • Actively participate in and contribute to a range of client’s fermentation and DSP processes which includes bacteria, yeast, and filamentous fungi as the production organism from bench to pilot scale.
  • Assist in setting up, organizing and commissioning the benchtop and pilot labs.
  • Record and organize experimental data. Assist in the analysis and interpretation of results, contributing to the overall project objectives.
  • Prepare, setup and maintain laboratory and pilot equipment and processes. 
  • Create and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory and pilot scale equipment and instruments.
  • Work collaboratively and safely with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects. Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Engineering) with 0-2 years of industrial scale up experience. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to work with diverse, multidisciplinary teams and partners to effectively advance projects.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
The ideal candidate
  • We are a startup! Prospective candidates should enjoy working in a small team with minimal bureaucracy. 
  • Hands-on experience with one or a few of the unit operations in bench or pilot scale, including fermenters, pilot centrifuges, TFF, mechanical cell lysis and spray drying.
  • Quick learner with a passion for hands-on laboratory work.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality results.
