Product Manager

Amberflo is transforming how companies charge for their products and services by making it easy to track and bill on usage. Amberflo provides a modern, highly scalable Usage Metering and Billing Platform to build and track usage based pricing plans.

Companies, big and small,  are shifting to Usage-Based Pricing and Billing to realize higher renewal rates, customer satisfaction, and revenue. Customers, like Equinix, LaunchDarkly, Firebolt.io and others use Amberflo to delight customers with realtime, accurate and on demand metered invoicing and billing.

Amberflo was founded in 2020 by former AWS technologists who built and scaled cloud services on the backs of Usage-Based Pricing (UBP) and Product-Led Growth (PLG). Headquartered in the Bay Area with employees around the world, Amberflo raised $20M Series A led by Norwest Venture Partners.

This is a hybrid role, requiring attendance in our San Jose office.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced product manager who is adept at navigating the complex dynamics between balancing customer feedback, product strategy, and internal resourcing constraints. This person will take ownership of product development and improvement through regular collaboration with engineering, GTM, and design.

What you'll do

  • You will understand, build trust, and delight customers. Spend hours each week with customers to thoroughly understand their needs, use cases, and pain points. Gather feedback, identify areas of friction and value, while always looking for new ways to build trust with customers. 
  • You will guide product strategy. Work directly with the executive team to articulate a strategy that balances short-term customer needs and long-term strategic goals and roadmap milestones while remaining aware and responsive to trends and changes in the wider market.  
  • You will influence product and engineering direction. You will be responsible for identifying key challenges, feature gaps, and areas of friction to improve and address them while understanding Amberflo’s unique strengths, differentiators, and architecture. You will be collaborating with engineering and design to ensure we are always investing effort in the correct places. 
  • You will prioritize effectively and ship new features quickly. You should leverage regular customer and prospect interaction to identify and prioritize key features for development, then work with engineering and design to deliver them quickly and efficiently. 
  • You will draft customer facing content, including Competitor Matrices, Product Documentation and User Guides, Customer Success Stories and Case Studies, and contribute to Community and Support Forums

Qualifications

  • You have a maximum of 5 years of product management experience.
  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in CS or other technical field; and/or work experience as a software engineer. MBA or Advanced degree preferred. 
  • You have hands-on experience with software engineering principles, Agile development methodologies, and are comfortable understanding our technology at the most fundamental levels.
  • You are a logical thinker with an ability to think from first principles as necessary.
  • You take a high degree of ownership and possess strong time management and prioritization skills. 
  • You have the ability and desire to work directly with customers on a daily basis, collaborating with sales and customer success to represent Amberflo and develop deeper relationships. 
  • You have great communication and writing skills. We follow a narrative style of collaboration and you will lead by example by communicating key ideas, feature enhancements, new initiatives and more with your writing.
