About the role
Tidal Financial Group is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Tax Management Intern to support our ETF Tax Management team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in ETF taxation, compliance, and reporting within a fast-paced financial environment. As an Intern in our Tax Management group, you will be an integral team member with the focus of helping support the day-to-day tax-related operations and reporting of ETFs, as well work on ETF tax projects related to enhancement of services provided to our clients and partners. This internship will introduce you to basic and advanced concepts of taxation of regulated investment companies, such as ETFs. Also included in the internship will be opportunities to learn from other areas of the fund administration team, as well as other areas of Tidal as a whole. Our fund administration leadership team, which the tax management group is a part of, is committed to a team atmosphere that stresses fun, enjoyment, teaching and development to help continued succession as a professional and leader.
What you'll do
· Assist in the preparation of fiscal year and excise year tax provisions and calculations for our ETFs
· Assist in the preparation of federal and state tax returns for our ETFs
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary data and documentation
· Participate in special projects and provide administrative support as needed
· Assist the Fund Administration Team in analysis and calculation of dividend and capital gain distribution rates
· Supporting quarterly Subchapter M compliance monitoring and reporting with other members of the Fund Administration team
· Support the tax management team with research on tax regulations and compliance issues.
· Providing tax re-allocation data for shareholder 1099 reporting
Qualifications
· Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft, particularly in Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with financial software
· Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Ability to embrace multiple technology platforms/systems and applications
