This role will be onsite four days a week, with one day per week remote.
About the role
The SVP of Trading will lead the firm’s execution and portfolio management function, responsible for directing day-to-day and strategic operations across trading desks. This role serves as a mission-critical conduit between portfolio strategy, product development, and market execution. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in ETF trading, market structure, trading platforms and capital markets, and will bring a track record of optimizing execution quality, managing complex market exposures, and leading high-performing teams.
What you'll do
Trading Strategy & Portfolio Management
- Lead ETF trading operations across all asset classes including equities, fixed income, and derivatives.
- Oversee a team that conducts portfolio management, takes client instructions and trade execution.
- Oversee interactions for ETFs, including AP engagement, market maker relationships, and NAV monitoring.
- Develop and implement capital markets strategies that enhance product liquidity, trading efficiency, and investor experience.
- Monitor macroeconomic, sector, and liquidity trends to inform tactical positioning and execution strategies.
Capital Markets Expertise
- Serve as a key contact for Authorized Participants (APs), liquidity providers, exchanges, and index providers.
- Advise on fund design from a liquidity, trading cost, broker selection and capital markets standpoint.
- Drive initiatives to improve ETF spread compression, increase market depth, and enhance creation/redemption mechanics.
- Lead efforts to establish new market-making relationships, capital capacity and optimize routing protocols across trading venues.
Business Partnership & Departmental Oversight
- Manage, mentor, and expand a high-performing team of portfolio managers and traders.
- Create a data-driven performance culture supported by robust analytics, real-time risk controls, and trade oversight.
- Collaborate with Middle Office for daily broker reconciliation, end of day recaps, cash management and margin maintenance.
- Oversee technology infrastructure including OMS/EMS, order routing, and end of day procedures to ensure scalability and efficiency.
- Partner with risk and compliance teams to enforce regulatory policies and monitor trading-related risk exposures.
- Collaborate closely with product, investment strategy, operations, and distribution teams to align trading with broader firm goals.

Qualifications
- 10+ years in institutional trading, ETF capital markets, or portfolio management within a buy-side or sell-side environment.
- Expertise in ETF creation/redemption processes, AP relationships, basket construction, and NAV calculation.
- Strong grasp of U.S. market structure and experience trading across exchanges, dark pools, and ATS platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team and scale operations during periods of business growth.
- Proficiency using Excel and Data Bases as tools in conjunction with trading application such as Bloomberg AIM/ EMSX
