Position Summary

The Assistant Corporate Controller will support leading the accounting and financial reporting functions for a growing $100 million healthcare organization. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making as the company scales. The Assistant Controller will manage the daily transactions of the accounting team, assist with audits and regulatory compliance, and partner closely with the Corporate Controller. CFO and executive leadership.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Close

  • Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness 
  • Assist in preparing GAAP-compliant financial statements and management reports for review
  • Ensure consistency and integrity of financial data across entities and systems

Accounting Operations

  • Coordinate with Corporate Controller to manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets, inventory, and other accounting areas
  • Responsible to ensure backup support to critical areas in accounting such as payroll and treasury management.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations
  • Manage revenue recognition in accordance with healthcare regulations and accounting standards
  • Ensure proper accounting for acquisitions, divestitures, and complex transactions

 Compliance & Controls

  • Maintain compliance with GAAP, healthcare regulatory requirements, and company policies
  • Assist or implement internal controls to mitigate financial and operational risk
  • Provide the supporting documentation to external auditors or tax preparers

 Leadership and Team Development

  • Demonstrate leadership skills and strive to grow into higher level Corporate Finance roles
  • Assist Corporate Controller in establishing clear performance expectations of the team and to foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Provide the supporting documentation to external auditors or tax preparers

Strategic & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Collaborate with operations, revenue cycle, compliance, and clinical leadership to support business objectives
  • Strong communication skills and ability to partner effectively with management and division leadership
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to compliance and ethics

Experience

  • 7-10 + years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles with a fast-growing multi company organization supporting $50M to $250M revenue desirable.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, healthcare (provider, services, or healthcare-related industries) or similar industries.
  • Proven experience in collaborating with external audit and tax partners 
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online Advanced or QuickBooks Enterprise Suite preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and intermediate to advanced user of Excel. 

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (required)
  • CPA desirable but not required (or active pursuit with strong experience considered since position has potential to grow into Corporate Controller role)
