ABOUT THE ROLE:

Are you an experienced leader with a knack for driving successful project outcomes? We’re seeking a VMO Manager, Project Management, to guide our dedicated project management team at Orion180 Insurance. In this pivotal role, you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex, high-impact projects across our organization.

 

As the heart of our project management efforts, you will develop and implement effective strategies, optimize resource integration, and ensure accountability to meet project goals on time and within budget. Your ability to foster seamless communication and collaboration as the central liaison between stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and third-party vendors will be crucial throughout the project lifecycle.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead & Mentor: Inspire and guide a team of project managers by providing resources, training, and support to drive high-performance results.
  • Develop & Coordinate: Create and manage the Integrated Master Schedule, ensuring alignment with company objectives and key project milestones.
  • Integrate & Align: Ensure both horizontal and vertical integration of project plans across all functional groups within the organization.
  • Track & Resolve: Oversee project tracking and risk analysis, proactively addressing critical path conflicts and developing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate Communication: Act as the central communication hub between project sponsors, stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and external vendors to clarify deliverables, requirements, and timelines.
  • Document & Report: Create and manage essential scheduling reports, metrics, and project documentation to aid in executive decision-making.
  • Monitor & Adapt: Establish processes for monitoring and controlling project deliverables, adapting progress to meet evolving needs effectively.
  • Collaborate Closely: Work alongside engineering, operations, marketing, and sales teams to support the development and successful release of new products.
  • Implement Change Control: Oversee the Change Control Process, ensuring smooth transitions and accountability for any project adjustments.
  • Prepare & Distribute: Draft and share agendas, meeting notes, project summaries, and high-level use cases as required to keep everyone informed.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, project management, or a related field.
  • Certification: PMP Certification or equivalent (strongly preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years of project management experience, particularly in leading in-house software development projects.
  • Team Leadership: Proven experience in leading teams effectively.
  • Tech Proficiency: Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project and SmartSheet; knowledge of Wrike is a plus.
  • Microsoft Office Skills: Advanced skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex projects.
  • Strategic Problem-Solving: Proven ability to strategize, problem-solve, and adapt in dynamic environments.
  • Risk Management: Experience in risk analysis and developing workaround plans to maintain project momentum.

While performing general duties for this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and/or walk around (including the use of stairs). Other demands include the ability to openly communicate with others by talking, listening, comprehending, and reading; being able to lift light objects (<25 lbs); and using standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones.  In addition, there is an occasional need to bend, twist, or squat down to open/close cabinets and reach for files or other standard office-type objects. 

 

The office environment is fast-paced and collaborative.  An employee must be willing and able to work their regularly assigned work schedule and, in times of need, be able to work an extended schedule depending on company or departmental needs, project requirements, or customer demands.

The pay range for this role is:

97,000 - 150,000 USD per year (Florida - HQ)
