We are seeking a Scientist to serve as a critical contributor to the LNP formulation team under the Delivery Chemistry function at Orna Therapeutics.  The successful candidate will work to develop, optimize, and evaluate lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations, as well as contribute to the development of next-generation delivery systems. They will gain technical and leadership experience in formulations research in a cross-functional, fast-paced role at an exciting biotech company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare, characterize and evaluate lipid nanoparticle formulations
• Provide delivery-related support to platform and therapeutic programs
• Engage in scale-up and process-development related efforts for LNP formulation (e.g. enhanced stability study, batch-to-batch fidelity, technology transfer, etc.)
• Lead evaluation and realization of novel technologies for next-generation delivery systems
• Coordinate and maintain inventory, assist in ordering supplies/making reagents and maintain a safe and high-performing laboratory
• Perform experiments, organize and analyze data, interpret results and summarize work in presentations, reports and ELN

QUALIFICATIONS

• PhD in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or related discipline with 0-3 years of industry research experience
• Prior experience with formulation processes is not required, although will be considered
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated record of independent research
• Highly organized, detail-oriented and manages time effectively
• Excellent oral and written communication skills across multiple teams/functions
• Team-oriented attitude
• Must be able to work in Watertown, MA
