Position Summary
The Construction Project Manager – Healthcare is responsible for managing the construction phase of multiple healthcare facility projects within an assigned region. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Manager will coordinate closely with vendors, consultants, internal stakeholders, and healthcare facility staff to ensure smooth project execution and operational readiness upon completion.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Oversight & Coordination
- Attend weekly COA (Construction Owner Architect) meetings onsite to monitor project status and address issues.
- Manage and track project schedules, making adjustments to maintain on-time delivery.
- Coordinate with Piedmont Healthcare IS Project Manager to align IT infrastructure with construction timelines.
- Manage relationships and schedules for specialty vendors including low voltage, X-ray equipment, millwork, partition walls, signage, and furniture.
- Oversee delivery and installation of key building components:
- Partition walls
- Millwork
- Lighting (if applicable)
- Signage
- Furniture and fixtures
- Lead punch list walkthroughs with project stakeholders and ensure completion of all punch list items.
- Oversee final inspections and obtain Certificates of Occupancy.
Operational Readiness
- Coordinate with the site Practice Manager to manage clinical supply delivery, storage, and installation.
- Oversee move-in logistics and ensure minimal disruption to healthcare operations.
- Coordinate final vendor closeout, documentation, and turnover to operations.
- Ensure all systems and equipment are installed and tested prior to occupancy.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Experience: 5–8 years of progressive experience in commercial or healthcare construction, managing multiple projects simultaneously within a region.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of healthcare construction requirements, codes, and vendor coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and vendor submittals.
- Other Skills:
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across multiple stakeholder groups.
Work Environment
- Frequent travel within the assigned region to attend on-site meetings, monitor construction progress, and oversee installations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
