GENERAL SUMMARY: The Sales Director will be responsible for all sales activities, from lead generation through close in the assigned market. Develop and implement agreed upon Sales and Marketing Plan which will meet both personal and business goals of expanding customer base in the marketing area. Will work with the sales and support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and, long-term account goals in line with company cause and values.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the sales of specialty bracing tailored exclusively to the Pediatric Medical Community.
- Develops annual business plan in conjunction with Managing Director and OPSB Sales VP, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year, which will focus on meeting or exceeding sales quota.
- Attends sales meetings and helps OPSB sales team, surgical team and distributors with questions related to specialty bracing products, and educating them on appropriate use.
- Maximizes all opportunities in the process of closing a sale resulting in the taking of market share from larger competitors.
- Sells consultatively and makes recommendations to prospects and clients of the bracing solutions the company offers to their business issues in pediatric hospitals, orthotics & prosthetics clinics and rehabilitation facilities.
- Oversees and coordinates all training & education efforts for selling organization and customers.
- Assists in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed.
- Maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within their assigned territory, including the use of Microsoft Outlook and Excel to maintain accurate records to maximize territory potential.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
- Meets and obtains monthly, quarterly, or annual sales quotas.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee day to day sales activities within the assigned geographic territory
- Train and develop local reps on products, clinical and selling skills
- Set and manage territories for EMEA-based reps
- Conduct quarterly reviews with distributor partners, customers and local sales teams to discuss progress and establish goals for the next 90 days
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - 7+ years of sales experience specifically in the bracing and/or orthotics and prosthetics industry.
- Extensive experience in all aspects of Sales and Account Management.
- Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals.
- Proven ability to achieve and surpass sales quotas.
- Fluent in English; Fluency in German and/or other European languages is beneficial.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Requires a 4 year degree or commensurate years of experience with proven sales success in the medical device industry.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and other employees of the organization across region. Requires excellent grammar and spelling.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Requires a valid driver’s license.
Other Skills and Abilities: Requires the ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment, such as a computer and keyboard, calculator, fax, photocopier, telephone, cell phone, etc. Requires proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
