About OurCommunity

OurCommunity is a ministry of OurCalling, a nonprofit organization that has been serving our neighbors on the streets since 2009. Every job position at OurCalling is a ministry position. At OurCalling, we help our homeless neighbors walk with Jesus and get off the streets. Our vision is to create a community of integrity where people are cared for with dignity and intentionally connected to the body of Christ. OurCommunity Ferris (OCF) will be a 500-home neighborhood development with full wrap-around support onsite. Located on a 280-acre rural property outside of Dallas, it will provide long-term, comprehensive, and relational care for formerly homeless residents who are at higher risk of dying on the streets and need long-term care. At the heart of this tiny home community will be a service building with wrap-around support services, including a chapel, a medical clinic, a cafe, mental health care, counseling, and more, all designed to minister to both the spiritual, social, and physical needs of our friends. With 500 homes, it will be the largest housing project for the formerly homeless in the history of North Texas. Over 100 acres of the property will remain as natural spaces or pastures in a flood plain.
