About OurCalling

OurCalling is a ministry specifically focused on the unsheltered homeless community. We operate an outreach center for the homeless community near downtown Dallas. We are passionate about loving and helping the unsheltered homeless transition to better lives. We are a faith-based ministry where every job is a ministry position. Each staff member should be able to clearly share the Gospel and communicate their own testimony. While everyone on the team wears multiple hats, our primary function is getting people off the street and helping them walk with Jesus. We want everything that we do to point to Jesus. We serve 200-400 guests daily. We are a “zero-barrier” facility that is welcoming and compassionate to all who enter.

Job Location: Dallas, TX

FLSA Status: Full Time / Exempt

Salary: Starting at $35,000 / year, DOE


Job Summary and Responsibilities:

The Operations Assistant will be the supportive force behind our people and processes, and we are currently seeking someone exceptional to take the helm. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver who has excellent communication skills and impeccable attention for detail. The candidate should also have experience working in an office environment, performing administrative tasks, and providing support to coworkers. An ability to work on multiple projects, manage complex schedules, and meet changing deadlines is essential to the position.

  • Serve as the eyes and ears of the Director of Operations, providing information, answering questions, and responding to requests
  • Assist with the coordination efforts for the Inclement Weather Shelter (IWS) with the IWS task force and vendors
  • Attend Operations Team meetings and serve as the secretary, taking detailed notes
  • Prepare agendas, reports, presentations, and other documents, ensuring accuracy and professionalism
  • Keep the Director of Operations updated on their current and upcoming to-do’s for daily operations and staying on track for strategic growth
  • Manage calendars and schedule meetings and appointments in the office, off-site, and via videoconference as needed
  • Maintain databases, filing systems, and office supply inventory
  • Maintain workflow by documenting and refining standard operating procedures, such as scheduling, communications, and process flows
  • Provide front-desk coverage when needed by greeting guests as they approach the front desk and support the maintenance of an organized, clean office environment
  • Support all Operations Team members with other duties as needed


Experience/Background:

  • High school diploma, required
  • Proven administrative experience in an office environment
  • Project management experience
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability
  • Aptitude for learning new software and systems
  • Experience developing internal processes and filing systems
  • Ability to handle information and documents with confidentiality and care
  • Display values of humility, respect for others, compassion, and excellence
  • Bilingual is a plus
