About OurCalling

OurCalling is a ministry specifically focused on the unsheltered homeless community. We operate an outreach center for the homeless community near downtown Dallas. We are passionate about loving and helping the unsheltered homeless transition to better lives. We are a faith-based ministry where every job is a ministry position. Each staff member should be able to clearly share the Gospel and communicate their own testimony. While everyone on the team wears multiple hats, our primary function is getting people off the street and helping them walk with Jesus. We want everything that we do to point to Jesus. We serve 200-400 guests daily. We are a “zero-barrier” facility that is welcoming and compassionate to all who enter.


Job Location: Dallas, TX

FLSA Status: Part Time / Non-Exempt

Rate of Pay: $18 - $20/hour


Job Summary and Responsibilities:  OurCalling is seeking a detail-oriented, driven, and people-first Development Associate to join our team and play a crucial role in supporting advancement operations. The Development Associate will provide administrative support for fundraising and donor engagement efforts by managing the donor database, processing and acknowledging contributions, generating reports, and coordinating donor communications and inquiries. This role requires excellent organizational and project management skills and the ability to engage and support various constituencies. The Development Associate will work both independently and in collaboration with the Advancement team and under the direction of the Advancement Manager. Duties: 

  • Maintain and update the donor database
  • Process and acknowledge donations accurately and promptly
  • Generate reports and mailing lists for development campaigns
  • Prepare and send thank-you letters, tax receipts, and other donor communications
  • Assist in implementing donor stewardship strategies (e.g., regular updates, recognition, etc.)
  • Assist with event logistics, including RSVPs, registrations, and materials
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries received through the development department's phone line and email
  • Support the Partner Engagement Manager with duties such as scheduling individual meetings, making reservations, ordering catering, sending follow-up emails, making calls, entering visit notes in CRM, and creating follow-up tasks in the project management system
  • Understand and communicate the mission, programs, distinctives, and impact of OurCalling
  • Support all Advancement team members with other duties as needed


Experience/Background:

  • High school diploma, required
  • Minimum one year of related experience in administration, operations, or development
  • Proficient in using excel, databases, software programs, and office equipment
  • One or more years of experience with CRM software
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop appropriate systems, prioritize, and walk all projects through to completion
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Display values of humility, respect for others, compassion, and excellence
