Role Summary:

Oxbridge Health is seeking an experienced Vice President of Business Development to lead our Texas market expansion in the large group ASO (Administrative Services Only) space. This dual-role position combines strategic sales leadership with hands-on business development, requiring extensive travel throughout Texas to build relationships, close deals, and develop a high-performing sales team. The ideal candidate is a proven sales leader with deep expertise in the self-funded insurance market who can both drive revenue personally and scale our presence through team building and mentorship.


Responsibilities:

  • Regional Sales Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies for the entire Texas market, setting growth targets and driving revenue expansion across multiple metropolitan areas 
  • Team Management & Development: Recruit, hire, train, and mentor a team of Sales Executives across Texas markets, providing ongoing coaching and performance management 
  • Direct Sales Execution: Maintain a personal sales quota while serving in leadership capacity, directly managing key enterprise accounts and complex deal negotiations 
  • Market Development: Travel extensively throughout Texas to identify new business opportunities, establish market presence, and build relationships with key stakeholders 
  • Broker & Consultant Relations: Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with brokers, consultants, and key decision-makers across the state, providing training and support to enhance their ASO selling capabilities 
  • Strategic Planning: Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to inform sales strategy and identify growth opportunities 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to develop customized ASO solutions for large group clients and ensure successful implementation 
  • Presentation & Proposal Leadership: Lead high-stakes client presentations and proposal development for enterprise-level prospects 
  • Performance Management: Track and analyze sales metrics, pipeline health, and team performance across the region, providing regular reporting to executive leadership 

Qualifications:

  • Leadership Experience: 7-10 years of sales experience with 3-5+ years in sales management or director-level roles, preferably in healthcare or insurance 
  • Industry Expertise: Deep understanding of the ASO market, self-funded insurance plans, and large group benefits landscape
  • Broker Network: Established relationships with brokers and consultants in the Texas mid-market and large group space 
  • Sales Performance: Proven track record of exceeding sales targets both individually and through team leadership 
  • Team Building: Demonstrated success in recruiting, developing, and retaining high-performing sales teams 
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Texas (50-75% travel expected) 
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building capabilities 
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with CRM systems, sales analytics tools, and sales management platforms 
  • Market Knowledge: Understanding of Texas business landscape and regulatory environment for insurance products
