Business Development Representative (Remote )

Looking to break into tech sales while making a real difference in education?
Packback is on a mission to help students become more confident, curious thinkers—and we’re growing fast. We’re hiring a driven, ambitious Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our Direct to Professor (DTP) sales team and help bring our platform to more college campuses across the country. This is an entry-level opportunity with full-time remote flexibility, and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to jump in and start making an impact.


What You’ll Do

As a BDR, you’ll be the first point of contact for educators interested in transforming student engagement. You’ll:

  • Generate new leads through cold calling, email, and LinkedIn outreach.
  • Schedule discovery calls and demos for professors, administrators, and decision-makers.
  • Respond quickly to inbound leads and guide them through our sales process.
  • Collaborate closely with Account Executives to hand off qualified opportunities.
  • Track outreach efforts and progress in Salesforce.
  • Research target schools and departments to craft personalized outreach.
  • Test and optimize outreach strategies using tools like Outreach.io and HubSpot.

What Success Looks Like

  • Hitting or exceeding your monthly demo booking goals.
  • Keeping up consistent outbound volume and follow-up.
  • Converting inbound interest into qualified opportunities.

What We’re Looking For

We’re not looking for a polished sales pro—we’re looking for someone excited to learn, unafraid to pick up the phone, and genuinely passionate about education.
You might be a great fit if you have:

  • 1+ year of experience in a sales role
  • Availability to work Eastern/Central time.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivation and comfort working independently in a remote environment.
  • Curiosity about sales and a willingness to learn new tools and strategies.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience with cold calling or sales outreach.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools like Salesforce or Outreach.io.
  • Interest in or understanding of the education or edtech space.

  • Sponsorship: Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without the need for sponsorship. Packback does not offer visa sponsorship for this role. 
  • Location: Currently we are only able to hire from these states: AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, HI, IA, IL, IN, KY, MA, MD, MI, NJ, NC, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TX, VA, WA, WI 
  • Salary: Base Salary: $45,000-$50,000, Annual Variable Target: $20,000. (Total Compensation Expected: $65,000-$70,000.
