ROLE SUMMARY

To advance the organization's mission and vision, PAI is hiring a highly-experienced, strategic, and dynamic Head of Corporate Governance, Risk, and Responsible Practice to be based remotely in the US or Canada. This role will lead our Investor Disclosures program and assume leadership of our Enterprise AI program over time, requiring expertise at the intersection of artificial intelligence, financial markets, and corporate governance.

The Investor Disclosures program addresses material risks and opportunities that investors need to understand by ensuring access to transparent, standardized, and meaningful AI-related disclosures while providing companies with streamlined risk assessment tools and clear disclosure expectations. The Enterprise AI program focuses on defining and guiding responsible AI use for businesses and organizational deployers of all types, developing best practices for the responsible adoption of generative and agentic AI systems.

Reporting to the Chief Programs and Insights Officer (CPIO), this role is a critical part of the Programs and Research (P&R) Team, responsible for developing frameworks for AI-related risk assessment, investor disclosures, and enterprise practice. Our approach is multi-stakeholder in nature; we need experience and expertise across finance, the AI industry, organizational deployment, and regulatory bodies to enhance market transparency, accountability, and responsible AI adoption.

This role will engage externally with our community of Partners and stakeholders, and internally with the Programs & Research team, the Executive Team, and with other colleagues across the PAI staff team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Head of Corporate Governance, Risk, and Responsible Practice is responsible for advancing the reach and impact of both the Investor Disclosures and Enterprise AI programs, with key responsibilities including:

Content Leadership & Expertise

  • Apply expertise on AI governance, financial markets, and organizational deployment to develop viable frameworks for AI-related investor disclosures and enterprise AI governance, including risk assessments and best practices
  • Lead and execute convenings, workshops, steering committees, and working groups to advance disclosure standards and enterprise AI best practices while collaborating with diverse stakeholder groups including investors, the AI industry, organizational deployers, civil society, and academia
  • Provide thought leadership on AI's material risks and opportunities for both investors and organizational deployers, and how these should be managed and disclosed
  • Stay ahead of AI trends and build on knowledge of AI systems to analyze their impacts on financial markets and organizational deployment

Strategic Planning & Vision

  • Develop and execute integrated strategies to advance responsible AI through improved market transparency and responsible enterprise adoption
  • Launch and manage multi-stakeholder Steering Committees to guide development and implementation of frameworks, tools, and best practices 
  • Synthesize insights from AI technology, financial markets, enterprise deployment, and regulatory requirements to inform PAI strategic priorities
  • Design and refine pilot programs for framework implementation in collaboration with Steering Committees
  • Identify opportunities to align both programs with other PAI initiatives to maximize impact

Project & Team Management

  • Lead projects from ideation to execution and post-project impact assessment 
  • Manage day-to-day execution relationships with staff from involved partners
  • Support recruitment of steering committee members through collateral creation and process management
  • Manage consultants and team members as programs grow, fostering a culture of high performance, well-being, ownership, and professional development
  • Establish and track performance metrics related to program reach, relationships, and impact
  • In partnership with the CPIO and Finance, lead resourcing, budgeting, and responsible financial management of both programs

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Engage effectively and build consensus among investors, companies, organizational deployers, and civil society organizations
  • Serve as a public ambassador of PAI and both programs by engaging with media, policymakers, and external stakeholders
  • Cultivate and manage strong external and internal relationships, ensuring timely and proactive communication
  • Partner collaboratively across PAI staff teams to drive engagement and progress

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of relevant and progressively responsible experience at the intersection of AI governance & policy, corporate disclosure, and investment analysis or enterprise technology adoption
  • Advanced degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field (e.g., MBA or PhD)
  • Background in the AI industry, consulting, financial services, enterprise technology, regulatory bodies, or civil society organizations focused on AI governance and corporate transparency
  • Understanding of corporate governance, securities regulation, ESG investing, capital strategies, and enterprise technology adoption, with fluency in their intersections with AI's material impacts
  • Proven ability to build trust and consensus in diverse multi-stakeholder settings, including experience managing steering committees or working groups
  • Demonstrated strategic thinker with the ability to structure and synthesize insights across technology, finance, enterprise deployment, and regulatory domains
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to translate technical and regulatory concepts for diverse audiences
  • Experience managing team members or consultants, with demonstrated ability to transition to people management as teams develop
  • Track record of successfully partnering across diverse teams and functions to deliver high-impact projects
