Position Summary

We are looking for a creative, organized, and mission-driven Content & Storytelling Associate to join Panthera’s Global Communications & Marketing (GCM) team. This role is ideal for a passionate writer who understands how to tell compelling stories that connect people to wildlife conservation and drive digital engagement.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Content & Marketing, this person will play a key role in writing, editing, and publishing stories that demonstrate Panthera’s impact and inspire support across multiple channels — including our website, email campaigns, blogs, social media, and brand awareness initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Write and edit engaging, brand-aligned content for:

o   Blogs and Mission-Driven stories for our website or reports (impact/annual reports)

o   Email newsletters and supporter journeys

o   Social media posts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)

o   Campaign pages and digital awareness initiatives

  • Collaborate with the content and digital teams to storyboard and produce multimedia storytelling pieces (photo-led, video narratives, etc.).
  • Support managing a content calendar aligned with global campaigns, cat-specific moments, and fieldwork updates.|
  • Assist in Panthera’s publishing workflows (e.g., Drupal CMS, social media schedulers) to update content and schedule posts.
  • Assist in tracking and archiving field stories and photo assets.
  • Support with basic visual storytelling (e.g., captions, image selection) in partnership with design and digital leads.
  • Work cross-functionally with the conservation team to ensure accuracy and clarity of field content.


Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in digital communications, marketing, journalism, or storytelling (nonprofit or conservation sector a plus).
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with an ability to tailor messages across platforms and audiences.
  • Passion for wildlife, conservation and a commitment to ethical storytelling.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn web CMS platforms (Drupal).
  • Familiarity with global marketing, organic social media publishing and trends.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple content projects and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with an eagerness to learn and a collaborative spirit.

Bonus Skills (Not Required)

  • Advanced video production skills, with a focus on editing, storytelling, and visual effects
  • Experience using basic design tools (e.g., Drupal, Adobe Photoshop).
  • Prior work in conservation, science communication, or international storytelling.
  • Basic understanding of SEO and web engagement metrics.
  • Fluent in writing and reading French.

Salary


Competitive salary commensurate with experience, ranging from $70,000 to $75,000, with an excellent benefits package.
