Founded in 1991, the company is located just west of Austin, Texas, with a modern 60,000-square-foot fabrication facility. Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Shop Helper to support daily fabrication shop operations. This role assists with material handling, preparation, and finishing tasks to ensure efficient production flow. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with metal materials, understands shop safety protocols, and is comfortable operating forklifts and fabrication equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to move raw materials and finished products safely throughout the shop.
• Cut materials to specification using a bandsaw.
• Punch holes and assist with fabrication using ironworker equipment.
• Grind, deburr, and finish metal components to meet quality standards.
• Assist with painting and coating of fabricated materials.
• Read and interpret shipping tickets, material tags, and work orders.
• Identify and handle various metal materials (steel types, plate, tubing, etc.).
• Stage materials for fabrication and shipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all shop safety procedures and company policies.

Required Qualifications

• Forklift operation experience (required).
• Experience handling and processing metal materials in a fabrication or industrial environment.
• Ability to safely operate shop tools such as grinders and saws.
• Ability to read material tags, shipping tickets, and work instructions.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in steel fabrication, steel shop, or related industrial environment.
• Experience with bandsaws, ironworkers, and shop fabrication equipment.
• Understanding of common structural steel materials and fabrication processes.
• OSHA 10 certification (preferred but not required).
