PDQ's Core Values: Honesty, Ownership, Collaboration and Improvement

Job Description:

As a Sales Engineer, your mission is to drive growth for the company by providing pre-sales technical support to prospective customers and show how PDQ.com is the best solution for them.

You will be responsible for technical discovery of the prospect’s IT environment, leading product demonstrations, and problem solving on the fly to effectively progress deals through the sales and expansion process. You’ll need to put yourself in the shoes of a System Administrator (because you’ve been one) and help them both see the value of PDQ and also convey that value to their manager.

Sales Engineers work hand in hand with our Account Executives and Account Managers. You’ll take detailed notes and set next steps for a smooth transition between you and the reps who will send quotes and collect payments.  You’ll also be a strategic thought partner, especially to our Mid-Market Account Executives – essentially co-owning the opportunities and helping to progress them to close.

What you'll be doing:

  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining PDQ products to prospective customers (sys admins)
  • Discuss system requirements to potential customers, as it pertains to their individual environments
  • Assisting customers in implementing PDQ products in their environment

  • Comfortable and capable selling technical IT products to technical people (sys admins)
  • Experience with technical terminology, deployment and patch management systems
  • Excellent communication and engaging presentation skills
  • Comfortable appearing and conveying information in a live, on-camera setting
  • Team player with high level of dedication
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and capable of thinking on your feet
  • Desire for continuous learning and improvement
  • Ability to occasionally (once or twice per quarter) travel for on-site customer visits and/or conferences and trade shows
  • Actively support and help drive quota achievement.

We're looking for people who have:
