About the role
Pear Suite is seeking a hands-on Compliance, IT, and QA Manager to lead our efforts in data security, quality assurance, regulatory compliance (including HITRUST, HIPAA, SOC 2), and internal IT operations. You will serve as a cross-functional partner to Engineering, HR, and Customer Success teams to ensure our systems are secure, our software is reliable, and our operations meet or exceed industry standards.
What you'll do
Compliance & Security
- Maintain and improve compliance with HITRUST, HIPAA, and SOC 2 frameworks
- Own internal policy development, training, and enforcement
- Lead annual risk assessments and coordinate third-party audits
- Monitor security practices and incidents, and drive mitigation efforts
Internal IT Management
- Own employee onboarding/off-boarding processes from a system access/security perspective
- Manage internal tools, access controls, device management, and vendor reviews
- Work with the CTO to manage our GCP infrastructure compliance posture
- Support incident response and change management procedures
Quality Assurance
- Manage QA processes for both internal tools and customer-facing features
- Collaborate with Engineering and Product to implement testing plans (manual + automated)
- Track and improve software reliability metrics, including bug regression and release quality
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in compliance, IT, security, or QA roles, ideally in healthcare or a B2B SaaS startup
- Deep understanding of HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2 frameworks
- Experience managing audits, security assessments, or vendor risk programs
- Familiarity with QA methodologies, including test planning, bug tracking, and regression testing
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Self-starter with excellent time management—comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- Adaptable and resourceful—willing to wear multiple hats and take ownership across domains
- Proactive problem-solver with a bias for action and continuous improvement
