Peer Supply is a platform for sharing healthcare supply chain data for the purpose of improving resilience, decreasing costs, and improving patient care. To date we have successfully organized a data sharing network that includes many of the top providers and suppliers in the United States. The data from these partners is being processed, mapped, and used to create a community database for querying and improving healthcare. 

About the Role

At Peer Supply, we believe in the transformative power of data to revolutionize the healthcare supply chain. This data engineering role will be instrumental in building the data pipelines and infrastructure to unlock valuable insights across the healthcare ecosystem. As our first dedicated data engineer, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of our data organization and make a meaningful impact on the industry.


What You'll Do

  • Architect and implement high-performance, fault-tolerant data pipelines and warehouses
  • Establish best practices for data engineering and data architecture
  • Build dimensional models and star schemas to support analytical use cases
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and domain experts
  • Write clean, maintainable code using Python and Node.js
  • Interact with databases and data warehouses including Postgres and BigQuery
  • Conduct code reviews and maintain high standards of code quality
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve data processing and integration


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience as a data engineer or in a similar role
  • Proven expertise in Python, SQL, and data warehousing solutions (e.g., BigQuery)
  • Experience building scalable, fault-tolerant ETL pipelines
  • Familiarity with dimensional modeling and star schemas
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities


Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with APIs, Nest.js, and Next.js
  • Familiarity with transformation toolkits (e.g., dbt, Airflow)
  • Knowledge of integrating ML/AI models into data pipelines
  • Experience working in the healthcare or supply chain industry


Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000, depending on experience. Peer Supply offers a comprehensive benefits package, stock options, open PTO, and a dynamic work environment that fosters professional growth and development.

This is a fully remote position based in the United States. Peer Supply has an office in Nashville for those local to the area who wish to work from an office.
