About the role
- A Production Team Member is responsible for assisting in the filling of paint, ensuring quality standards, while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This role involves working closely with the entire team, operating machinery, and handling packaging to fill paint that meets company specifications. The role is pivotal in ensuring efficiency, productivity, and alignment with the company's strategic goals.
The role encompasses the final phase of the production process from pulling packaging, ensuring machine settings, quality control of finished goods as well as filling into the proper packaging.
What you'll do
- Operate and monitor paint filling machines to ensure proper functioning.
- Set up machines for filling operations, including adjusting settings for different paint types and container sizes.
- Fill containers with paint according to specified guidelines and quality standards.
- Ensure accurate measurements and avoid overfilling or underfilling containers.
- Conduct regular inspections of filled containers to ensure they meet quality specifications.
- Deliver samples to the Quality Control department for various tests.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of filling equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues with filling machines.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating machinery and handling paint products.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Maintain accurate records of production quantities, quality checks, and machine maintenance.
- Report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor promptly.
- Work closely with other operators, quality control personnel, and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
Key Constituents:
- Warehouse Team Members
- Ensure production needs are met to ensure team members have sufficient inventory to pull orders from.
- Fill daily needs in a timely fashion to ensure shipping date targets are met.
- Lab
- Work with Lab to address any concerns regarding production and quality.
- Work with Lab to learn processes and QC procedures that will enable quality results.
- Production Planner
- Follow the daily schedule to meet daily shipment needs.
- Communicate any delays or issues regarding daily production needs.
- Sales Team Members
- Ensure the highest quality paint is being made in an efficient and timely manner.
- If any delays, ensure the sales team member is advised.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
- Growing profitability within production operations by reducing costs through improved operations, elimination of waste and other efficiencies.
- Widespread adoption of processes by the production team members.
- Growing knowledge and competence within the production teams.
- Production KPI (scheduled vs. actual) is above the set target.

Qualifications
- Communicate with all team members on a daily basis through coaching, educating or providing feedback.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior filling and warehouse experience a plus.
