About Us
We are a rapidly growing multi-entity organization, with over 250 employees, providing specialized education and related services throughout California. Our organization operates school-based and community-based programs that support children and families with specialized needs. Our structure includes multiple affiliated operating entities, management entities, and real estate holdings that require strong financial coordination and operational discipline. We are entering a significant stage of growth and infrastructure development, including operational expansion, financial system modernization, and long-term scalability planning. We are seeking a Controller who can help build the financial infrastructure necessary to support our next phase of growth. Strategic capital allocation, board governance, major financing decisions, and broader corporate strategy remain executive-level responsibilities. Current financial systems include QuickBooks Desktop and Rippling Workforce Management Solution, with future opportunities to improve system architecture as the organization continues to scale.
The Controller will serve as both:
· Financial leader
· Hands-on systems builder
This individual will oversee accounting operations across multiple entities while building and standardizing financial systems, internal controls, reporting infrastructure, and operational processes from the ground up. This is not a maintenance role and it is not a CFO role. We need someone who can improve financial visibility, create operational discipline, modernize workflows, and remain highly hands-on in execution. The Controller will help transform the finance department from a transactional function into a scalable operational infrastructure that supports continued growth and a long-term transition from cash basis to accrual accounting. Initial priorities will focus on stabilizing accounting operations, improving reporting accuracy, strengthening controls, and building scalable processes. Additional specialization and team expansion will occur over time as the organization grows. This role will oversee existing accounting personnel and help shape the future structure of the finance department.
