Position Overview


Under supervision of the General Counsel, the Senior Counsel executes the legal department’s representation of the business in a manner consistent with commercial objectives and compliant with applicable law.  The Senior Counsel is involved with a variety of legal matters affecting the global business, with an emphasis on negotiating and drafting commercial contracts. 


This is a hybrid, full time position requiring a minimum of 3 days in our Melville, NY headquarters.

  • Support the General Counsel with the drafting, negotiation and administration of client and business partner contracts as directed.
  • Assist with supervision and training of junior counsel. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that the interests of the company are appropriately represented in commercial agreements.
  • Develop and implement compliance-focused processes and procedures.
  • Conduct legal research. 


Required Skills, Education and Experience

  • J.D. degree and membership in New York State bar is required.
  • 5+ years of legal experience as transactional legal counsel, ideally with a combination of law firm training and in-house experience in a technology company.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Team player and consensus builder who can effectively collaborate and build relationships with business leaders throughout the organization.
  • Strong MS Office skills and research skills.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a hybrid, full time position with a minimum of 3 days in the office. Monday through Friday during normal core business hours.

Compensation
Good faith annual salary range for this position is $150,000  to  $185,000 plus 15% bonus and is commensurate with experience. 

Other Duties

Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time according to business needs.

The performance of additional responsibilities if you are designated as a Data Protection Champion (DPC), Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) or Information Assurance Accounting Officer (IAAO).

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
