Forward Deployed Implementation, Associate (BLR)

Alchelyst is a client solutions and infrastructure partner for private markets asset managers. Purpose-built for the expanding demands and sophistication of global private markets, the firm offers a comprehensive managed service offering that can support GPs, private wealth funds and investors. Alchelyst has offices in the US, Ireland, UK, Luxembourg and India.

AURUM, Alchelyst’s proprietary technology platform, is designed to automate fund administration processes at scale. Its core features work out of the box, and the platform is flexible enough to adapt to each client’s needs. The Forward Deployed Implementation team makes sure AURUM works for every client, from day one and every day after. The role has two parts:

  • Implementation: Onboarding new clients onto AURUM. This means understanding their fund structures, reporting needs, and operating model, then working with operations and technology teams to configure the platform so clients go live smoothly.
  • Adoption and tactical solutions: Extending AURUM to client-specific, complex and exception-driven cases. The team sits alongside operations teams to understand these cases and works with the technology team to deliver tailored solutions quickly, so that AURUM becomes part of how operations works every day.

We are seeking an experienced techno-functional professional with 5-10 years of experience in fund administration, either as a fund accountant or as a business analyst on fund accounting systems.

The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge of private markets fund accounting with a strong grasp of technology. They’ll support new client implementations and lead engagements with operations teams to identify, define, prioritize and deliver tactical solutions on AURUM.

Key Responsibilities

Client Implementation

  • Support the onboarding of new clients onto AURUM, from requirements gathering through configuration, testing and go-live.
  • Work with clients, operations and technology teams to understand fund structures, reporting needs, and operating models, and translate them into platform setup.
  • Coordinate data migration, validation, and parallel runs so clients transition onto AURUM with confidence.
  • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for new clients during onboarding, keeping implementations on track and raising risks early.

Operations Engagement & Adoption

  • Work closely with fund accounting, investor services and reporting teams to observe current workflows, identify manual workarounds and understand where standard AURUM features do not fully meet the need.
  • Work with Operations leads to drive adoption of AURUM, helping teams understand how the platform can support their day-to-day processes
  • Track adoption across teams and processes, and escalate barriers to adoption with clear, actionable recommendations.

Use Case Analysis & Solution Design

  • Analyze client-specific and non-standard use cases, including bespoke fund structures, waterfall and allocation logic, non-standard investor reporting and exception handling.
  • Determine whether each use case is best addressed through configuration, a tactical build, a workflow change or a roadmap item for the core product.
  • Write clear business requirements, functional specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria that enable the technology team to build robust solutions
  • Design solution approaches with the technology team, balancing speed of delivery with scalability, control and maintainability.

Delivery & Prioritization

  • Own and prioritize the tactical backlog for assigned operations areas based on business impact, risk, effort and client commitments.
  • Work in short delivery cycles with developers, product owners and QA to move solutions from requirement to production quickly.
  • Lead user acceptance testing with operations, including test scenario design, data preparation, parallel runs and sign-off.
  • Support go live activities including cutover, training, user guides and hypercare support.

Product Feedback & Standardization

  • Identify recurring patterns across tactical requests and recommend which should be generalized into core AURUM features.
  • Provide structured feedback to the product team on usability, feature gaps and operational pain points.
  • Maintain a library of reusable solutions, configurations and playbooks to speed up future delivery.

Governance

  • Report on delivery progress, adoption metrics and benefits realized (hours saved, errors reduced) to senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure solutions meet internal control, audit and data governance requirements, with appropriate documentation and change management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field. CA, CPA, ACCA, CFA (any level) or an MBA in Finance would be an advantage.
  • 5-10 years of experience in fund administration or private markets, as a fund accountant, business analyst, or in a techno-functional role on fund accounting systems.
  • Strong understanding of private markets fund accounting, including capital calls, distributions, management fees, carried interest and waterfalls, NAV calculations, investor allocations, and financial and investor reporting.
  • Experience gathering requirements from operations users and translating them into functional specifications and user stories for technology teams.
  • Hands-on experience implementing, configuring or supporting fund accounting platforms such as Investran, Geneva, eFront, Allvue, LemonEdge, FIS, or similar.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data analysis, validation and troubleshooting.
  • Experience leading UAT and supporting system go-lives in an operational environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound trade-offs between speed, quality and scope.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to work with both senior operations staff and engineers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Private Equity, Private Credit, Real Estate, Infrastructure or Fund of Funds administration.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery teams and with tools such as Jira, Confluence or Azure DevOps.
  • Exposure to workflow automation, low-code platforms, or scripting (e.g., Python, Power Automate).
  • Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Experience with data integrations, file-based imports and exports, or APIs between fund accounting and third-party systems.
  • Prior experience in a change management, transformation or process re-engineering role.

What Success Looks Like

  • Within 1–3 Months: Develop a strong understanding of AURUM, the client implementation process, and existing operational workflows, identify non-standard use cases and manual workarounds outside AURUM, and establish priorities for improvements in collaboration with operations and technology teams.
  • Within 4–9 Months: Deliver prioritized solutions within agreed timelines, translate operational needs into clear requirements that minimize rework, and ensure solutions progress through UAT with minimal defects. Demonstrate increased AURUM adoption and reduced reliance on manual workarounds outside AURUM. Support new client implementations through to a smooth go-live.
  • Within 9–12 Months: Track and report the impact of delivered solutions, including hours saved, errors reduced and improved turnaround times. Identify recurring tactical solutions and work with the product team to incorporate them into core AURUM features.
  • Ongoing: Continuously identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, strengthen AURUM adoption and enhance workflows. Where applicable, support junior team members in developing the skills and confidence to work independently through guidance and review.
