About the role

AspenView Technology Partners is seeking a Product Owner to own the vision, roadmap, and backlog for an enterprise-wide data modernization effort within a vertically integrated manufacturing environment. Acting as the single point of accountability for product value, this role sets priorities, makes trade-off decisions, and ensures analytics solutions built on Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and related Azure data services deliver measurable business outcomes. The ideal candidate pairs a strong grasp of manufacturing operations, supply chain, financial flows, and sales performance with the product leadership needed to turn enterprise strategy into a prioritized, value-driven delivery plan.

What you will do:

Product Vision & Roadmap

  • Own and communicate the product vision and multi-quarter roadmap for the data & analytics platform, keeping it aligned to enterprise strategy.
  • Define and continuously refine the success metrics and value targets for each product increment.

Backlog Ownership & Prioritization

  • Own, prioritize, and groom the product backlog, making the trade-off decisions that maximize delivered value.
  • Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria; review, accept, or reject completed work against them.

Stakeholder Engagement & Alignment

  • Partner with leaders across Manufacturing, Finance, Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Marketing to align on priorities and outcomes.
  • Serve as the connective voice between business stakeholders and delivery teams, managing expectations and surfacing trade-offs early.

Analytics Delivery & Value Realization

  • Ensure Power BI datasets and dashboards meet business objectives — accurate, timely, secure, and actionable.
  • Oversee validation and UAT before release, then drive adoption and measure the value realized afterward.

Data Process, Quality & Governance

  • Work with Data Engineers to guide the transformations needed for analytics-ready data across ERP (D365/AX) and integrated systems.
  • Champion data quality rules, governance standards, and master data requirements.

Agile Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and reviews within an Agile/Scrum framework.
  • Drive opportunities for automation, self-service analytics, and data democratization.

What you bring:

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience across product ownership, business analysis, or data/analytics delivery, including hands-on Product Owner experience in an Agile environment.
  • Proven ability to own a product backlog and roadmap and make prioritization and trade-off decisions that maximize value.
  • Strong experience writing functional requirements, user stories, and BI solution documentation in an Agile environment.

Technical Expertise

  • Practical understanding of Power BI (reports, dashboards, datasets, workspaces); ERP and operational data, especially Dynamics 365 / AX; and manufacturing process data (work orders, BOMs, routing, costing, throughput, supply chain).
  • Familiarity with SQL-based data environments and the ability to perform basic data exploration and validation.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and Azure DevOps for backlog and work-item management.
  • Ability to facilitate workshops, communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, and present to executive stakeholders.
  • Excellent English communication skills — fluent written and spoken, with the confidence to engage North American, UK, and European business and executive stakeholders directly.

Preferred / Future-Aligned Skills

  • Prior experience delivering analytics or data products within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Product ownership certification (CSPO, PSPO, or equivalent).
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, and Fabric Link integrations.
  • Knowledge of marketing and sales data flows and attribution models.
  • Understanding of financial reporting hierarchies and cost accounting structures.
  • Experience working closely with Data Engineering teams or within DataOps environments.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field — or equivalent work experience.
