Information Management (SharePoint) Administrator, I.T. and Cybersecurity

The Information Management Administrator is responsible for the administration, configuration, and governance of the organization’s SharePoint environment while supporting enterprise data governance practices. This role ensures that SharePoint is secure, well‑structured, compliant, and aligned with data governance policies related to information lifecycle, data quality, privacy, and access control. The position acts as a bridge between IT, data governance, and business teams to promote trusted, compliant, and well‑managed information across platforms. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess SharePoint and Microsoft 365 project needs and translate business, security, and compliance requirements into technical solutions.
  • Define, implement, and enforce the SharePoint usage framework in alignment with Microsoft 365 governance, data protection, and compliance standards.
  • Design, create, configure, and administer SharePoint Online sites based on approved architectures, security models, and lifecycle policies.
  • Lead and support end to end migrations to SharePoint Online, including planning, execution, validation, remediation, and post migration stabilization.
  • Implement, manage, and operationalize Microsoft Purview controls, including sensitivity labels, data classification, DLP, retention, and compliance policies.
  • Own information protection and compliance enforcement across SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Exchange in collaboration with cybersecurity stakeholders.
  • Evaluate SharePoint Online performance, capacity, and usage, and recommend optimization, risk mitigation, or governance improvements.
  • Contribute to the definition and ongoing maintenance of Microsoft 365 governance standards, policies, reporting, and control documentation.
  • Support audit, compliance, and risk management activities by providing technical evidence, configuration documentation, and impact assessments.
  • Provide technical support, guidance, and enablement to internal teams during SharePoint adoption and governance enforcement.
  • Deliver training and knowledge transfer sessions related to SharePoint usage, data protection, and compliance best practices.
  • Produce and maintain clear, structured documentation, including architectures, standards, procedures, and operational guides.


PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • College or university diploma in I.T. as well as related Microsoft certifications.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint projects.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Strong interest in data and security management.
  • Excellent analytical skills, rigor and intellectual curiosity.
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Excellent technical documentation skills and ability to produce clear deliverables.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 expertise: Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Entra ID (Azure AD).
  • Experience in SharePoint design and governance (structure, permissions, best practices).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 security (MFA, Conditional Access, identity management).
  • Experience with PowerShell for M365 administration (strong asset).
  • Understanding of Windows Server environments and infrastructure fundamentals (asset).
  • Bilingualism (oral and written) (French and English) in order to be able to deal on a daily basis with our colleagues in offices outside Quebec as well as with our external partners across Canada, the United States and internationally.
