BetMakers Technology Group

People & Culture Manager (12-Month Fixed Term Contract)

About the Role:

We're looking for a People & Culture Manager to take full ownership of P&C operations for our Australian and European function (circa ~100 people across two regions). This is a standalone role reporting directly to our Chief People Officer, meaning you'll run the show: the full employee lifecycle, cyclical reporting, performance cycles and business partnering, without layers between you and the decisions that matter. This is a 12-month fixed term contract, giving you the chance to make a real, tangible impact fast and deliver meaningful results.

What you'll love about BetMakers:

  • An attractive salary package and performance-based incentives.
  • Hybrid working, with access to central CBD office location.
  • Real autonomy paired with support: you'll report to our Chief People Officer and have the freedom to run your own patch, with guidance there when you need it.
  • An inclusive, engaged global People & Culture team where open communication and delivering excellence are top priority.

Day-to-day:

At BetMakers no day is the same, we pride ourselves on being a dynamic and fast-paced team that love to deliver excellence. If you're ready to take on the challenge, the role will involve:

  • People Operations: own the full employee lifecycle end to end, from onboarding and contract issuance through to processing exits and exit interviews, keeping our org chart and records accurate and current.
  • Reporting & Insights: be the source of truth for our people data, delivering regular people reporting & insights that leadership actually relies on.
  • Business Partnering & Performance: be the first port of call for leaders and employees on people matters, running regular catch-ups and owning the performance review cycle from start to finish.
  • Remuneration & Benefits: own role benchmarking and support the AU/EU salary review and bonus cycles, keeping our pay competitive and aligned to market.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: be the first welcoming face for new starters, owning induction, system set-up and probation tracking end to end, and running recruitment activity as it comes up.
  • Compliance & Employee Relations: keep our AU/EU policies and practices current with local employment laws. Provide initial HR advice in accordance with relevant employment legislation and BetMakers policies and procedures.
  • Culture & Engagement: own the culture calendar end to end, from monthly celebrations and the Christmas party through to volunteer days and other engagement initiatives.
  • HR Systems: put your tech-savvy skills to work navigating our HRIS (Rippling) with confidence.

To be successful in the role:

  • 5+ years' generalist HR/P&C experience, including end-to-end transaction processing and ownership of cyclical HR processes.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and set up operational HR processes without close oversight or a supporting team.
  • Commercially savvy, connecting people decisions to business outcomes without needing it spelled out. You're cognisant of the bigger picture, understanding how your role contributes to the strategy.
  • Strong organisational and process management skills, with high attention to detail across reporting, compliance and documentation. You follow procedures, whilst being adaptable and able to think critically to problem solve. You can bring your unique ideas to the table.
  • Practical business partnering skills, comfortable advising line leaders on day-to-day people matters.
  • Working knowledge of HR information systems (Rippling experience highly regarded) and confidence working with people data and reporting.
  • Sound understanding of Australian employment fundamentals; exposure to European employment administration is an advantage but not essential.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional business.
  • You follow through consistently and are always willing to get the task done, no matter the level or complexity - you're not afraid to ask for support.
  • You're authentic, always acting respectfully, upholding the utmost confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Working in a global business, you value the experience of working with international teams and flourish in a flexible working environment.
