About the internship:
The Investment Research Intern will gain hands-on experience conducting external investment manager due diligence, evaluating asset classes, preparing research reports, and developing investment recommendations. The intern will collaborate with members of the Investment Team and contribute to research, portfolio management, and client-related projects.


This is an in-person internship based in Omaha, Nebraska. The internship will run from May through August 2027.


What you'll do:

In this role, you will:

  • Manage assigned investment research projects from initial analysis through final presentation.
  • Research external investment managers and asset classes, participate in due diligence meetings, and prepare detailed assessments.
  • Develop and present a comprehensive company research report and investment recommendation.
  • Participate in monthly Investment Committee meetings and internal Capital Market Expectations meetings.
  • Contribute to weekly discussions regarding capital markets, economic trends, and portfolio implications.
  • Assist with client financial reports, presentations, and other investment-related materials.
  • Support client portfolio management and investment analysis projects.
  • Collaborate with members of the Investment Team on additional research and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field with relevant coursework in finance, accounting, investments, or securities analysis.
  • Foundational understanding of equity and fixed-income markets and a demonstrated interest in investing.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present research findings clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with FactSet, Morningstar Direct, Zephyr StyleADVISOR, or Bloomberg is a plus.
  • Interest in pursuing the CFA designation is preferred.
