JOB DESCRIPTION/TYPICAL TASK BREAKDOWN:

  • The Supply Chain Planning Engineer supports Electric Power Division (EPD) by designing, maintaining, and executing robust supply chain planning and material flow strategies to support complex manufacturing operations. This role blends planning, industrial engineering, and supply chain principles to ensure optimized material availability, efficient plant layouts, and strong supplier integration. 
  • The Planning Engineer plays a key role in Plan for Every Part (PFEP) ownership, material flow and layout optimization, and supplier collaboration to improve safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost performance across EPD operations. 


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supply & Production Planning - Develop and maintain supply, capacity, and material plans aligned to customer demand and production schedules. Translate forecasts, firm orders, and configured solutions into feasible production and material requirements. Monitor execution and proactively identify risks impacting manufacturing schedules or customer deliveries.  
  • PFEP - Own and maintain Plan for Every Part (PFEP) data for assigned product families or value streams. Use PFEP as a foundation for Lean & material flow improvements. 
  • Material Flow & Plant Layout - Collaborate with Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering to design and improve material layouts, line‑side presentation, and storage strategies. 
  • Support layout changes related to: New product introductions (NPI), Model changes or option expansions, Capacity increases or line rebalancing. Reduce non‑value‑added material movement, handling, and congestion within the plant. Ensure material flow designs support safety, ergonomics, and standardized work.  
  • ERP Implementation Experience – Prior experience with SAP or any ERP implementation & in transition of old ERP to SAP. 
  • Engineering & Product Alignment - Work closely with Product Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure BOM accuracy and manufacturability. Support engineering changes, ECNs, and option complexity impacts to planning and material flow. Ensure planning logic aligns with EPD’s configured to order and engineered to order products. 


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or related field with excellent oral & written communication and a great team player.  
  • 3–5 years of experience in supply chain planning, materials management, or manufacturing operations. 


REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Experience with PFEP, material flow, or plant‑level planning strongly preferred 
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills 
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems like Aptean, SAP – A strong plus 
  • Experience in power generation, industrial equipment, or capital goods manufacturing 
  • Lean, CPIM, or CSCP certification good to have (NOT mandatory)
