About the Role

Demesmin & Dover PLLC is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Records Specialist / Case Manager to join our growing Personal Injury team. This dual-role position is responsible for managing medical records requests and organization while also assisting with case management responsibilities throughout the life of a personal injury claim.

The ideal candidate is proactive, client-focused, and capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Records Responsibilities

  • Request, obtain, and track medical records and billing statements from healthcare providers.
  • Follow up with providers to ensure timely receipt of records.
  • Review records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Organize and upload medical records and bills into the case management system.
  • Maintain detailed records request logs and status updates.
  • Coordinate with attorneys and case managers regarding outstanding records and treatment updates.

Case Management Responsibilities

  • Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding case status and treatment updates.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, medical providers, and insurance companies.
  • Assist with gathering documentation necessary to support claims.
  • Monitor client treatment progress and obtain updated medical information.
  • Prepare demand packages and supporting documentation as assigned.
  • Ensure case files remain organized and up to date.
  • Assist attorneys and paralegals with case development and settlement preparation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in personal injury law, medical records management, healthcare administration, or a related field.
  • Experience obtaining and reviewing medical records and billing records preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software.
  • Bilingual (Creole/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Salary: $22-$28 per hour


Schedule: This position is ON-SITE in our Fort. Lauderdale office, with no remote/ hybrid schedule. Schedule is Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts, 8:30am-5:30pm
