Field Operations Manager, Home Services & Construction

Location: Houston, TX
Work arrangement: Field-based with office responsibilities
Employment: Full-time
Starting salary: $80,000 - $100,000

The Opportunity

Dynamic EcoHome is looking for a Field Operations Manager to build Houston into a high-performing, scalable home-services operation.

We are interested in ambitious leaders from home remodeling, HVAC, solar, roofing, electrical services, construction, telecom field operations, and other businesses that coordinate crews, materials, schedules, and customer projects across multiple job sites.

We also welcome industrial and mechanical engineers who want to apply their technical and systems-thinking abilities in a hands-on leadership environment.

This is a build role. You will have the authority to improve how the operation runs, establish stronger field standards, develop the team, solve recurring problems, and increase capacity without sacrificing safety, quality, or the customer experience.

If you can see what an operation could become, move quickly to improve it, and know how to bring people along, this role offers the ownership and visibility to make a measurable impact.

The Experience That Translates Well

You may be a strong fit if you have led field teams or operations in:

  • Home services or residential construction
  • Home remodeling and renovation
  • HVAC installation or service operations
  • Solar, roofing, electrical, plumbing, or generator services
  • Telecom, fiber, cable, or utility field operations
  • Multi-site construction or installation services
  • Equipment installation, maintenance, or technical field service
  • Manufacturing, industrial engineering, or process improvement

The specific industry matters less than your ability to manage field personnel, coordinate moving parts, improve operational performance, and hold teams accountable for results.

What Will The Field Operations Manager Own
  • The direction and daily performance of Houston field operations
  • Execution across safety, quality, cost, schedule, and customer experience
  • The productivity, accountability, and development of installers, technicians, electricians, and field personnel
  • Crew capacity, labor utilization, project cycle time, and installation throughput
  • The systems and standards needed to create a consistent, scalable operation
  • Coordination among field teams, project managers, customers, subcontractors, and internal departments
  • The identification and development of future team leads and field leaders
  • Continuous improvement across scheduling, materials, workmanship, communication, and job-site execution
What Will The Field Operations Manager Do
  • Lead daily home services, construction, and installation operations throughout the Houston market
  • Set a clear operating direction and translate it into measurable priorities
  • Lead, motivate, and develop technicians, installers, electricians, and other field personnel
  • Build a culture of urgency, ownership, discipline, safety, and accountability
  • Coordinate crews, schedules, equipment, materials, and job-site requirements
  • Identify operational bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and recurring performance issues
  • Redesign inefficient workflows and introduce practical improvements
  • Standardize field procedures so safety, quality, and customer service remain consistent as volume grows
  • Track labor costs, crew productivity, project timelines, rework, quality trends, and installation cycle time
  • Conduct job-site visits and inspections to evaluate safety, workmanship, efficiency, and compliance
  • Resolve field issues quickly and address their underlying causes
  • Anticipate staffing, scheduling, material, and capacity constraints before they affect performance
  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold employees accountable for results
  • Coach high-potential employees and build a pipeline of future field leaders
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA requirements, building regulations, company procedures, and job-site safety standards
  • Make confident decisions in changing conditions with limited oversight
  • Present field performance, priorities, and improvement plans to senior leadership
The Field Operations Manager We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
  • Zero to five years of professional experience - New Grads are encouraged to apply!
  • Strong preference for candidates with one to three years of experience in construction, installation, manufacturing, field services, equipment, or project operations
  • Demonstrated leadership through competitive athletics, coaching, military service, student organizations, internships, entrepreneurship, or team-based competitions
  • A background in competitive athletics is preferred, especially when it demonstrates discipline, resilience, leadership, and a team-first mindset.
  • Evidence of taking ownership and delivering results beyond assigned responsibilities
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in seeing how systems perform under real field conditions
  • Strong analytical ability combined with a willingness to make decisions and act
  • Ability to earn credibility with experienced installers, electricians, and technicians
  • Willingness to work at job sites and adapt to changing field conditions
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the Houston market
The Leadership Profile That Thrives Here

You will thrive in this role if you:

  • Are assertive, competitive, energetic, and highly motivated by results
  • Want decision-making authority and responsibility for outcomes
  • Naturally take control when expectations, systems, or priorities are unclear
  • Move quickly from identifying a problem to implementing a solution
  • Communicate directly and confidently with different personalities
  • Challenge established processes when a better approach is available
  • Hold yourself and others to high standards
  • Use data to make decisions without becoming stuck in analysis
  • Stay composed when schedules, priorities, or field conditions change
  • Want to build a team and an operation, not simply maintain one
  • Prefer being close to the work instead of managing entirely from behind a desk
Preferred Qualifications For The Field Operations Manager
  • Experience managing operations in home services, home remodeling, HVAC, solar, roofing, electrical services, plumbing, telecom, fiber, cable, utilities, or residential construction
  • Experience with technical inspections, quality control, failure analysis, or corrective action
  • Knowledge of job-site safety, building standards, and construction documentation
  • OSHA 30, PMP, CM-Lean, Lean Six Sigma, or comparable certification
  • Exposure to field service, manufacturing, installation, maintenance, or construction environments
  • Leadership experience within a competitive team environment
What Success Looks Like For The Field Operations Manager

During your first 90 days, you will be expected to:

  • Earn credibility with Houston’s installers, electricians, technicians, and project leaders
  • Develop a working understanding of our products, installation processes, and field standards
  • Establish baseline measurements for safety, quality, productivity, labor utilization, and cycle time
  • Identify the constraints having the greatest effect on Houston’s capacity and performance
  • Introduce consistent field communication and performance-management routines
  • Implement initial process improvements that produce visible results
  • Identify high-potential employees who can develop into future field leaders
  • Present a practical plan for improving and scaling Houston field operations

If you are an ambitious person who wants ownership, visibility, field leadership, and the opportunity to build something meaningful, we want to hear from you.
