Human Resources Coordinator, APAC


EdgeConneX is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our team in Malaysia. As a key member of the HR team, the Human Resources Coordinator will support day-to-day HR operations across the APAC region, ensuring smooth employee experience while maintaining compliance with local employment requirements. This position reports to the Human Resources Generalist, APAC and is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.


Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute onboarding activities across APAC jurisdictions, ensuring a seamless, consistent, and compliant onboarding experience for new hires from offer acceptance through successful integration into the business.
  • Manage pre-employment requirements, including background check coordination, document collection and verification, onboarding communications, system access requests, equipment coordination, and new hire orientation activities.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for routine HR inquiries, providing timely support to employees and managers on HR processes, policies, benefits, and employment-related matters, while escalating complex issues as appropriate.
  • Provide administrative support for employee lifecycle activities across APAC, including employment changes, promotions, transfers, manager changes, organizational updates, and offboarding coordination.
  • Administer employee benefits programs across APAC, including enrollments, employee communications, vendor coordination, invoice management, renewals, and benefits-related reporting.
  • Support immigration and mobility processes across APAC jurisdictions, including visa applications, work permit renewals, dependent pass applications, document collection, compliance tracking, and coordination with external immigration providers.
  • Assist with HR compliance activities across APAC by maintaining required documentation, monitoring compliance-related deadlines, supporting statutory requirements, and ensuring records are audit-ready.
  • Coordinate with external HR vendors and service providers, including immigration counsel, insurance brokers, medical providers, background screening vendors, and other third-party partners.
  • Maintain HR documentation, templates, employee records, and other HR resources in accordance with company policies, local regulations, and data privacy requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain HR reports, dashboards, trackers, organizational charts, and other HR documentation to support business and compliance needs.
  • Maintain and update job descriptions, organizational documentation, and HR resources to ensure accuracy and alignment with business requirements.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, wellbeing programs, learning activities, new hire check-ins, and regional HR communications.
  • Assist with internal and external audits and compliance reviews, by gathering documentation and supporting audit requirements.
  • Support HR projects, process improvements, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives across the APAC region.


Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, HR Administration, or a similar role.
  • Experience supporting multiple countries or jurisdictions within APAC is preferred.
  • Familiarity with employment legislation, HR practices, and compliance requirements across APAC countries is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive employee information.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Experience working with HR systems, HRIS platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
