SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Production Planning Coordinator is responsible for planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity as well as managing inventory levels


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Plans and manages production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and utilize the company’s production capacity. 
  • Manages inventory levels, schedules, and availability of raw materials to meet production schedules.
  • Oversees monthly inventory physical count and manages adjustments that follow. 
  • Completes shipping information and delivery date input during sale order reviews. 
  • Provides updates on order status to sales and sales support.
  • Receives and reviews sales orders against current requirements and work in process using the material requirement planning report. 
  • Releases sales orders and job tickets for production and manages purchases to support plant production. 
  • Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, supply chain, and supervisors on material status and production planning issues.
  • Understands and follows all safety policies and procedures. Helps support the management team by communicating unsafe practices to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures. 
  • Commitment, awareness and involvement pertaining to ISO (policy, standards, procedures, etc.) and food safety practices (GMPs, procedures, etc.) are requirements of all employees.
  • Assists as needed on trials. Work with customers, operators and product development.
  • Reviews production reports. Ensures proper recording of material consumption and production times.
  • Records and corrects errors. 
  • Communicates daily with managers and operators to discuss any issues and concerns. Serves as a liaison between production personnel and manager, particularly when managers are not on-site.
  • Motivates and retains critical personnel to meet and exceed internal company goals.
  • Assists Director of Operations with developing and distributing production schedules.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • ERP Systems experience is a plus.
  • Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, operations management or supply chain, preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience and training in Continuous Improvement/LEAN principles.
  • Knowledge of Google Suites is preferred.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is around, moving mechanical parts and vibration
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Requires certain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as hairnets, steel-toed shoes, and facility-specific uniform requirements
