About the Role
Forterra is seeking two motivated, high-performing Capture & Proposal Analysts to support the company’s growth organization. These roles are ideal for early- to mid-career professionals who have hands-on experience supporting defense acquisition, capture, and/or proposal development and who want to grow in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
The Capture & Proposal Analysts will report directly to the Senior Director, Capture & Proposals and work closely with portfolio-based Growth Leads. Each analyst will be aligned to a portfolio and will help execute capture plans in partnership with Growth Leads, while also leading and coordinating proposal activities from pre-RFP through submission.
This role is best suited for someone who is proactive, organized, hardworking, and energized by solving problems. The right candidate will be a strong communicator and writer who can manage details, keep teams on track, and contribute across both capture and proposal efforts in support of strategic growth objectives.
What You’ll Do
- Support execution of capture plans for priority opportunities in partnership with portfolio Growth Leads and the Senior Director, Capture & Proposals
- Help coordinate and advance opportunity shaping activities across the capture lifecycle, including research, competitive analysis, stakeholder coordination, milestone tracking, and documentation
- Assist with development and maintenance of capture artifacts, including call plans, win themes, customer profiles, competitive assessments, and gate review materials
- Lead proposal process execution for assigned opportunities, including schedule development, compliance tracking, content coordination, color team reviews, and final submission support
- Coordinate cross-functional inputs from technical, program, contracts, pricing, and leadership teams to drive timely, compliant, and compelling proposal submissions
- Support solicitation analysis, outline development, requirements matrices, and proposal management activities
- Help improve proposal quality through strong organization, clear communication, and effective review incorporation
- Maintain capture and proposal data, templates, status reporting, and process documentation
- Identify risks, roadblocks, and gaps early, and work collaboratively to solve problems and keep efforts moving
- Contribute to continuous improvement of Forterra’s capture and proposal processes, tools, and best practices
What We’re Looking For
- A detail-oriented and process-driven professional with a passion for complex problem-solving in high-stakes environments.
- Someone who thrives in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments and enjoys collaborating with both technical and business teams.
- A strong communicator who can distill complex technical input into clear, persuasive, and compliant proposal responses.
- A proactive contributor who anticipates needs, takes ownership of deliverables, and consistently meets deadlines.
What You’ll Need
- Approximately 5 years of relevant experience in capture, proposals, business development operations, or defense acquisition-related roles
- Experience supporting the capture and/or proposal process for U.S. Government or Department of Defense opportunities
- Working knowledge of the defense acquisition environment, including government solicitations and proposal development workflows
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, organized, and professional materials
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Demonstrated ability to work hard, take ownership, and solve problems with limited oversight
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence without direct authority
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to manage both internal relationships (cross functional teams) and external relationships (partners and vendors).
What We Love to See
- Experience working with cross-functional engineering, operations, and leadership teams.
- Familiarity with proposal and capture processes at both small and large federal government contractors
- Graphic design or desktop publishing experience
- Familiarity with government contracting and acquisition approaches across both FAR- and non-FAR based mechanisms (e.g., OTs)
