Position Summary

Fulcrum Technologies is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to support all aspects of the Company's inventory management and material control operations. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting production material requirements, conducting cycle counts, managing inventory transactions, coordinating receiving activities, and ensuring inventory accuracy throughout the organization.

The Inventory Control Specialist will be cross-trained in all inventory functions and will serve as a key resource supporting Production, Purchasing, Shipping, and Accounting. This role is an excellent opportunity for an inventory professional seeking broad exposure to inventory management within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Inventory Control

  • Perform inventory transactions accurately and timely within the ERP system.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through routine audits and verification activities.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify shortages, discrepancies, and excess inventory.
  • Research and resolve inventory variances.
  • Maintain inventory records and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, and tracked.

Cycle Counting & Physical Inventory

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts and reconciliation activities.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and determine root causes.
  • Document findings and corrective actions.
  • Support inventory accuracy improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain cycle count records and reporting.

Material Receiving & Transactions

  • Receive and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Process receipts and inventory adjustments within the ERP system.
  • Coordinate material transfers between warehouse and production areas.
  • Verify material availability for production work orders.
  • Ensure inventory locations are maintained accurately.
  • Support material staging activities for production.

Warehouse & Material Management

  • Maintain organized warehouse and storage locations.
  • Support shipping and receiving operations as required.
  • Monitor material movement and inventory flow throughout the facility.
  • Ensure inventory is stored in accordance with company standards.
  • Assist with inventory disposition and obsolete material management.
  • Promote safe material handling practices.

Inventory Reporting & Analysis

  • Generate inventory reports and transaction histories.
  • Assist with inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Monitor inventory performance metrics and accuracy levels.
  • Support inventory forecasting and replenishment efforts.
  • Identify inventory trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with operational and inventory-related projects.

Cross-Training & Business Continuity

  • Develop proficiency in all inventory control and warehouse functions.
  • Provide backup support during planned and unplanned departmental absences.
  • Support succession planning by maintaining a comprehensive understanding of inventory operations.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of inventory control, warehouse, material management, or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience working within an ERP or inventory management system.
  • Experience performing cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturing inventory control experience.
  • ERP system experience (M1, ECI, Epicor, JobBOSS, SAP, or similar).
  • Experience supporting production and manufacturing operations.
  • Experience with cycle count programs and inventory reconciliation.
  • Forklift certification or material handling equipment experience.
  • Associate's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.

  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles and warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of inventory transactions, cycle counting, and material management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify process improvements and inventory efficiencies.
