About the Role

The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for leading creative strategy and executing the visual identity of the organization, ensuring cohesive, innovative, and impactful branding across all global communications. This role partners closely with cross-functional departments to conceptualize, design, and implement compelling visual assets and UI/UX solutions that elevate the brand experience across digital platforms, donor optimization workflows, and physical environments.

 

As a creative leader, this role drives high-level design execution while maintaining brand integrity across international campaigns, emergency relief appeals, major events, and internal initiatives. Additionally, the Senior Graphic Designer provides mentorship to junior team members, fostering creativity, collaboration, and continuous growth within the design team.


Key Responsibilities

Creative Leadership & Brand Strategy

  • Lead the visual strategy for national campaigns, ensuring all design assets align with the organization's humanitarian mission and core values.
  • Maintain, scale, and enforce a cohesive design system across all chapters and regional offices.
  • Conceptualize and oversee execution of high-level creatives across a variety of mediums, including presentations, print collateral, digital advertising, print publications, web graphics, email campaign graphics, international signage, social media graphics, and branded experiences, with elevated brand standards across all visual touchpoints.

Brand Leadership & Management

  • Champion and uphold brand standards across all internal and external touchpoints, ensuring consistency in messaging, design systems, typography, photography, and visual identity.
  • Continuously elevate the organization's creative standards and visual presence through thoughtful design and brand innovation.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure all materials align with brand guidelines and strategic priorities.
  • Help evolve and maintain brand systems, templates, and creative resources for organization-wide use.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with marketing team, program managers, upper management, fundraising teams to support business objectives through compelling visual design.
  • Present creative concepts and rationale to staff, incorporating feedback while maintaining creative integrity.
  • Support organization-wide campaigns, fundraising initiatives, internal communications, and special events at regional offices nationwide while trying to adhere to consistency.

Mentorship & Quality Control

  • Provide guidance, constructive feedback, and creative mentorship to junior designers. Review final creative assets to ensure the highest standard of quality, accuracy, and brand alignment before production.
  • Conceptualize and provide art direction to ensure individual styles and contributions converge on a unified visual vision.

Team Management & Assets Control

  • Manage and optimize the daily workflow for the creative team, balancing resource allocation between an in-house junior designer, specialized consultants, and agencies.
  • Maintain a shared iCloud asset library, ensuring all high-res design files, templates, and final deliverables are structured logically and meticulously updated.
  • Establish and enforce consistent file-naming conventions and folder hierarchies within iCloud Drive to ensure seamless version control and organization.

Production & Project Management

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and quality.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, printers, freelancers, and external partners to ensure seamless execution of creative deliverables.
  • Stay informed on emerging design trends, tools, technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance creative output.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Fine Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8-10+ years of professional graphic design experience, preferably in non-profit or faith-driven environments.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in branding, campaign development, digital and print design, visual storytelling, UI/UX
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and lnDesign, familiarity with Figma and After Effects is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, color theory, production processes, and digital design best practices.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
