Position Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior HR Administrator to join their team. In this role, you will own the full lifecycle of employee administration from onboarding new employees to processing payroll and handling benefits administration. This is a hybrid role that offers flexibility for remote work, but the candidate must be based in the Los Angeles area and be able to work on-site as needed for key administrative processes and team collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate onboarding activities and exit interviews
- Maintain employee personnel files including employee medical files
- Plan and conduct new employee orientations
- Processing bi-weekly payroll in Paylocity ensuring accuracy of wage calculations, tax withholdings, and deductions
- Develop, implement, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and best practices
- Manage employee benefits administration
- Ensure compliance with coordination of leave administration (ie., CFRA, disability, etc.)
- Respond to employee questions about policies, benefits, pay discrepancies, etc.
- Review and update the employee handbook annually and stay ahead of state and federal labor law compliance changes
- Perform monthly benefits reconciliations to ensure billing accuracy and resolve discrepancies with the broker or carrier
- Conduct internal audits of I-9s and assist with annual workers’ compensation audits
- Assisting with the coordination of annual performance reviews
- Handling initial employee grievances and escalating sensitive issue to senior management
Ideal candidate must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- 4+ years of progressive HR and payroll experience
- Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws, especially California and New York
- Experience in payroll management and using payroll software applications, Paylocity experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications
- Excellent time management and written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $80,000. The salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
