Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Psychiatric‑Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) –PRN/PART-Time
Setting: Substance Use Rehabilitation Program (ASAM 3.7–3.1)
Location: Middle River
Schedule: PRN-Part-time (12–24 hours/week)
About the Role
Hygea Healthcare is seeking a mission‑driven Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team across detox (3.7), residential (3.5), and transitional/low‑intensity (3.1) levels of care. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, adaptable, and committed to providing safe, evidence‑based medical oversight in a behavioral health and addiction‑medicine setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive medical assessments, including H&Ps, ongoing medical monitoring, and acute symptom evaluation
- Manage chronic medical conditions and support stabilization during withdrawal management
- Conduct medication reconciliation and ensure safe medication administration practices
- Collaborate closely with nursing, psychiatric providers, counselors, case managers,, UR, and clinical leadership to ensure medical necessity and continuity of care
- Provide timely documentation in the EMR (KIPU) aligned with regulatory and accreditation standards
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and compliance‑driven workflows
- Support infection control, communicable disease protocols, and urgent medical interventions as needed
- Educate patients on health maintenance, recovery‑supportive medical care, and discharge planning
Qualifications
- Active FNP‑BC or PMHNP certification
- Maryland NP license, Active DEA license
- Experience in addiction medicine, behavioral health, urgent care, or acute care preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and comfort managing complex medical presentations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a fast‑paced, team‑based environment
