Position Summary

The Art Director, Brand Creative is responsible for shaping and executing the visual expression of the LAGOS brand across all customer touchpoints. In partnership with the Vice President, Brand Creative, this role develops compelling creative concepts and translates them into integrated campaigns, brand storytelling, and customer experiences that support business objectives and strengthen brand equity. As both a creative leader and hands-on designer, the Art Director guides projects from concept through final execution across digital, print, retail, and experiential channels. This role leads and develops creative team members while collaborating closely with Ecommerce, Marketing, PR, Retail, and Visual Merchandising to deliver elevated, channel-specific creative that maintains a cohesive brand story.

 

Essential Functions

Creative Direction & Brand Storytelling

  • Partner with the Vice President, Brand Creative to develop and execute integrated 360-degree campaigns that support brand, product, and business objectives.
  • Translate brand strategy and product storytelling into compelling visual concepts, creative direction, and campaign narratives.
  • Adapt campaign ideas across digital, social, ecommerce, print, direct mail, and retail channels while maintaining a consistent and elevated brand presence.
  • Maintain and evolve the LAGOS visual identity, ensuring creative excellence and brand consistency across all customer touchpoints.

 

Design, Art Direction & Production

  • Lead hands-on creative development and design execution across ecommerce, email/CRM, paid media, social content, print collateral, direct mail, packaging, and other brand communications.
  • Provide art direction for product, lifestyle, and campaign photography and video productions, including concept development, shot direction, and image selection.
  • Develop visual narratives, creative briefs, mood boards, and presentation materials that support campaign execution and content creation.
  • Apply strong knowledge of photography, retouching, production processes, and design best practices to ensure high-quality creative output.
  • Review and approve creative assets throughout production to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to brand standards.

 

Team Leadership & Creative Excellence

  • Lead, mentor, and develop designers and creative team members through coaching, feedback, and creative guidance.
  • Establish and uphold high standards for design quality, craftsmanship, storytelling, and execution across all work.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and solutions-oriented creative culture.
  • Help prioritize resources and workload across multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.

 

Cross-Functional Partnership & Project Leadership

  • Partner closely with Ecommerce, Marketing, PR, Retail, and Visual Merchandising teams to translate business objectives into impactful creative solutions.
  • Lead projects from concept through launch, driving alignment, decision-making, and execution throughout the creative process.
  • Collaborate with photographers, stylists, printers, freelancers, agencies, and other external partners to deliver best-in-class creative work.
  • Identify opportunities to improve creative processes, workflows, and team effectiveness while supporting innovation across channels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Visual Communications, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of professional design and art direction experience, preferably within luxury, fashion, jewelry, beauty, or other design-led consumer brands.
  • Proven experience developing integrated campaigns and visual storytelling across digital, social, ecommerce, print, direct mail, and retail channels.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, brand building, exceptional design craft, and hands-on execution.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing designers or creative teams.
  • Experience directing photography and video productions and collaborating with internal and external creative partners.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, as well as Figma.
  • Strong understanding of photography, retouching, print production, digital design workflows, and channel-specific creative best practices.
  • Confident presenter and communicator with the ability to articulate creative rationale and influence stakeholders at all levels.
