Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist, HR Operations is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration of Human Resources programs and processes, including HR operations, employee relations, policy administration, compliance, compensation administration, HR systems, reporting, and employee lifecycle activities.

This role serves as a critical operational resource for employees and managers, ensuring that HR programs are administered consistently, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and employment regulations. The HR Generalist partners closely with Talent Acquisition, Training & Development, managers, and employees to support workforce needs while maintaining operational excellence across the Human Resources function.

 

Essential Functions

HR Operations & Administration

  • Support the day-to-day administration of Human Resources operations.
  • Administer employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, transfers, promotions, leaves of absence, and offboarding.
  • Maintain HR policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
  • Ensure employee records, documentation, and HR transactions are accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and operational efficiency.

Payroll & Benefits Administration

  • Support payroll preparation and processing activities.
  • Administer employee benefit programs, including health, welfare, and retirement plans.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions regarding payroll, benefits, and HR policies.
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment activities and employee communications.
  • Partner with vendors to resolve issues and ensure effective service delivery.

Compliance & Policy Administration

  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain I-9 documentation, personnel files, and required employment records.
  • Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and reporting activities.
  • Support policy administration and ensure consistent policy application across the organization.
  • Monitor HR activities for compliance and process adherence.

Compensation & Performance Administration

  • Support annual performance review and compensation administration processes.
  • Process compensation changes, promotions, and employee status updates.
  • Maintain compensation records and documentation.
  • Assist with compensation reporting and analysis activities.
  • Ensure timely completion of performance management processes.

HR Systems & Reporting

  • Maintain HRIS data integrity and workforce records.
  • Process employee transactions within HR systems.
  • Generate standard HR reports, dashboards, and metrics.
  • Assist with workforce analytics and reporting requests.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of employee information.

Employee Relations Support

  • Serve as a resource to employees and managers regarding HR policies, practices, and workplace concerns.
  • Support employee relations investigations and documentation.
  • Assist in resolving employee issues while ensuring consistent application of company policies.
  • Escalate complex employee relations matters as appropriate.
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and compliant workplace environment.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to support hiring, onboarding, and workforce transitions.
  • Collaborate with Training & Development to coordinate employee training and development activities.
  • Provide administrative support for employee programs and HR initiatives.
  • Assist with employee communications and HR program implementation.
  • Support organizational initiatives and change management efforts as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience.
  • Experience supporting HR operations, employee relations, compliance, and HR administration.
  • Experience managing employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience supporting performance management and compensation administration.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms, workforce reporting, and employee data management; Rippling experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with sound professional judgment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a service-oriented approach to supporting employees and business partners.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
