Job Summary:
This is a working assistant supervisory position requiring weekend and holiday work. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting the Pool Manager with maintaining safety by enforcing policies and procedures, which ensure efficient and effective operation of pool facilities including personnel management and training. Duties involve all swimming pool operations which include but are not limited to scheduling staff for swim lessons, adult aquatic classes, open swim, private events, and special events. Limited pool maintenance including daily chemical analysis/testing. This employee should have excellent organizational, communication, and public relation skills.
Pay range is $17.00 to $18.00/hour

What you'll do
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Coordinates with pool manager for schedules and updates of all lifeguards.
B. Organize and supervise a program of rules and standards which maintains a safe, clean, and pleasant atmosphere in the pool and marina areas.
C. Implements pool safety program and schedule staff to provide adequate protection for members and their guests.
D. Train and supervise pool and marina employees to assure safety on conjunction with pool manager for cleanliness and good rapport with Lake Wildwood Association residents.
E. Ensures that lifeguards maintain proper chlorine levels in large pool and wading pool in coordination with pool operator.
F. Supervise and evaluate recreational pool programs and pool activities for residents to enhance their summer enjoyment.
G. Ensure that members and guests are properly registered, and fees are collected for daily pool use and special lessons/events.
H. Confront and solve problems and complaints which arise in relation to the swimming pool complex and to communicate directly with the pool manager on all issues of confrontation.
I. Assists in rendering First Aid according to the standards established by the American Red Cross and American Heart Association.
J. Maintains and keeps all necessary records concerning pool attendance, accident reports, problem-member reports, lifeguard, instructors’ schedules, etc.
K. Acts as Safety Coordinator for LWA, and as such enforces all safety rules and safe work practices including initiating and supervising safety training programs during “In-Service Training”
L. Manages pool areas lost and found articles.
M. Manages pool area, including guard shack to ensure a safe & clean environment.
N. Maintains first aid kits and orders first aid and other supplies when necessary.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
A. High school or equivalent.
B. College degree in recreation or pool management preferred.
C. At least one year’s experience in pool management or recreation planning and/or two years of formal training.
D. Must possess current First Aid, C.P.R. cards, and Water Safety Instructor training preferable.
E. Must possess a valid California Driver's License.
