Job description:

LGTC Group is an outpatient mental health center committed to providing integrated, scientific, empathetic mental health treatment for teens, young adults, adults, and their families.

Our team members from various disciplines collaborate and coordinate interventions to provide the most effective and current treatment options. This supports individuals and their families to participate in effective decision-making aimed to improve their health and well-being.

The primary responsibility of the Medical Assistant is to ensure efficient patient flow and maintain quality care.

The clinical duties of the Medical Assistant are performed under the direct supervision of a nurse practitioner or physician.

The Medical Assistant carries out clinician orders and performs/assists with patient care procedures and treatments.

Duties will be focused on caring for patients with eating disorders.

Duties related to the Eating Disorders PHP will include:

  • Gathering basic clinical information and presenting it to the supervising Physician
  • Getting Vital signs and performing a basic physical exam
  • Maintaining list of active patients

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Completion of all requirements in a recognized Medical Assisting training program or completion of the minimal training requirements as outlined in Section 1366 of the Business and Professions Code required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Ability to work independently as well as an integral part of the patient care team is required.
  • Ability to interact with potential patients, clinic staff, physicians and departments in a professional manner.
  • Must maintain professional appearance and demeanor and interface well with patients in a mental health setting.
  • Must respect and adhere to office guidelines and use good judgment regarding patient confidentiality.
  • Punctual, reliable and flexible.
  • One to two years prior experience as a MA preferred.
  • Experience working with patients who are suffering from anxiety and depression preferred.
