Corporate Analyst II

About Lilac Solutions, Inc.

Lilac exists to solve one problem: lithium supply. We have developed scalable ion exchange technology that enables lithium to be produced faster, cheaper, and with a smaller environmental footprint. Our materials and engineering expertise uniquely position us to develop projects across a wide range of lithium brine resources. By unlocking new resources and accelerating their path to production, we make lithium supply a non-issue for global electrification.

Lilac is supported by the largest players from the mining and processing industry, as well as significant investment funds. Lilac investors include BMW, SK, Mitsubishi, Sumitomo, Bill Gates' Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Mercuria, Lower Carbon Capital, and MIT's The Engine.

About the role

Lilac is looking for a versatile Analyst II to join our team. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Development & Strategy, you’ll support the delivery of strategic initiatives and commercial transactions. This is a step above an entry-level Analyst role: you’ll be trusted to take a first pass at structuring and analyzing problems and, over time, take increasing end-to-end ownership of key workstreams. This is a high-visibility, cross-functional role where you’ll gain exposure to senior leadership, the Board, investors, and external advisors.

This is a unique opportunity to join a high-growth, venture-backed start-up as we scale groundbreaking technology from the lab to commercial deployment. We’re looking for a structured thinker who drives outcomes, communicates clearly, and takes pride in producing high-quality work. You should be eager to learn and accelerate your development by taking on new challenges and increasing responsibility.

What you'll do

  • Conduct market, industry, & competitor research; synthesize findings into actionable insights for leadership
  • Develop investor presentations and other materials supporting financing activities and investor engagement
  • Build, maintain, and analyze financial models to support project evaluation, financing decisions, and strategic initiatives
  • Manage and maintain virtual data rooms for financing, investor, and other diligence processes, including coordinating information requests and ensuring materials are complete and well organized
  • Prepare high-quality presentations for senior management and Board meetings
  • Support ad hoc, high-priority strategic analysis for senior leadership to solve complex business problems
  • Work cross-functionally to gather inputs, build relationships, and help drive workstreams forward
  • Identify gaps, risks, or inconsistencies in analysis or materials proactively, and recommend solutions rather than simply flagging issues
  • Contribute to process improvements for recurring workstreams (e.g., board reporting, data room management, model templates) to increase efficiency over time

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of relevant professional experience in a highly analytical environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure complex or ambiguous problems
  • Quantitatively minded and comfortable working with data and financial information
  • Strong PowerPoint and presentation development skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex analysis
  • High attention to detail and a track record of producing polished, executive-ready work
  • Highly organized, coachable, and willing to learn; comfortable managing multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work with greater independence, exercising sound judgment on when to escalate versus resolve issues directly

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in mining, oil & gas, investment banking, management consulting, or another relevant industry
  • Experience building and analyzing financial models
  • Master's degree in business, finance, engineering, or other relevant subject
