Mytra

Senior Software Validation Engineer

About Mytra:

We’re creating an entirely new way to solve the most ubiquitous problem in industry - moving and storing material. We’re applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We’re focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a “sleepy” industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.

About the role

As a Senior System Validation Engineer at Mytra, you will join our Software Validation & Release Team during a period of fast-paced growth as we develop & scale Mytra's next generation system. On this team, you will work closely with engineers across the organization to drive system reliability, while also building scalable practices, tools and infrastructure to enable teams to ship complex, hardware-dependent code quickly without compromising reliability.

What you’ll do:

  • Work directly with multiple engineering teams to proactively identify gaps in system architecture, validation pipelines and test infrastructure.
  • Own the full life-cycle from gap identification to deploying automated validation processes that improve reliability across the Mytra system.
  • Build and scale automated hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), software-in-the-loop (SIL) and simulation test infrastructure to ensure robust regression detection.
  • Perform deep-dive root cause analysis and fix hardware, software, and firmware issues identified throughout the release process.
  • Own system validation burn down - tracking issues in the release pipeline, driving them to closure, and enforcing accountability across software, firmware, and hardware domains.
  • Manage teams of agents to deploy and maintain internal validation and release web products that enable cooperation, velocity and reliability across the Mytra organization.

Ideal Candidates:

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience
  • You are a proficient software engineer, with a track record of deploying robust validation pipelines for hardware systems.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering validation processes, including validation planning, burn down tracking, and ownership of end-to-end system reliability.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Expert proficiency with Python and Linux-based environments.
  • Familiarity with system-level languages (C/C++/Rust) to debug at the firmware level.
  • Experience developing firmware validation tests for both HIL and SIL testing.
  • Experience with communication standards (CAN, I2C, SPI) and electromechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in agent-driven coding practices (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) to increase engineering velocity and validate agent-generated code.
  • Professional mastery of Git and software version management.

Nice to have:

  • Experience building and maintaining fleet-wide release qualification for robotic, automotive or industrial automation systems.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD principles and workflows for SIL/HIL and experience building these systems from scratch.
  • Familiarity with observability for distributed systems, including metrics, logs, traces, data lakes, and alerting.
  • Experience with embedded debugging workflows, including JTAG, SWD, core dumps, and trace tools.
  • Experience with containerized CI systems and build orchestration, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm Charts.
  • Hands-on experience with lab automation and hardware test infrastructure, including relay control, power cycling, and instrumentation.
  • Exposure to functional safety or reliability practices, including DFMEA and incident postmortems.

A Final Note:

If this role excites you, we encourage you to apply — even if you don’t check every box. At Mytra, we build bots, but we hire humans. We value thoughtful challengers who communicate with clarity and respect, and we’re lifelong learners committed to getting better every day. We move fast, learn faster, and show up for each other under pressure. The best outcomes come from diverse perspectives working together to build something meaningful and built to last
