CAD Designer

Job Location: Phoenix, AZ

Full-time, In-office

Hourly: $25 to $35 per hour DOE and Education


We are adding a CAD designer to our corporate family in our Phoenix location. The candidate will work on water/wastewater facilities, process design, development of process flow diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams,  site layout, civil and mechanical design, piping, structural, etc. Civil design experience preferred.

The successful candidate shall have aptitude and skill set to successfully perform the duties outlined below.

Job Summary:

Qualified Applicant Requirements

·       Minimum requirement: Associate degree in engineering, drafting, or architectural fields:

·       Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering or equivalent work experience.

·       Minimum of 2 years of experience using AutoCAD or CIVIL 3D.

Experience Required

·       Highly Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and/or CIVIL 3D, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

·       Experience in AutoCAD MEP and/or Autodesk Revit is preferred, but not required.

·       Proficient in making adjustments or changes in drawings as necessary.

·       Strong analytical and problem solving skills

·       Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities

·       Results oriented, with a collaborative work style and strong communications skills

·       Good computer, math, and English skills.

·       Ability to work independently on design projects.

·       Friendly with the ability to interact with various personalities.

Experience in the Following is Preferred:

·       Adobe/Bluebeam

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Drafting of water/wastewater facilities in CAD, using company standard procedures and templates.

Support mechanical and process design for environmental and water/wastewater projects as a primary responsibility through preparation of design drawings including piping details, sections, 3D layouts, isometrics, and/or P &IDs

Support other mechanical and other disciplines with CAD as a secondary responsibility including potentially mechanical HVAC, civil 3D, structural, and/or electrical disciplines

  Plan set development including set and sheet organization, detail development, and interdisciplinary coordination and review

Designs in a manner according to established local, state, and national industry standards

Works from survey files, sketches, photographs, notes, and other input material to develop construction drawings

Interface with the design team, project manager, CAD Manager, to obtain project information or clarify client requirements.

Maintain familiarity with design/drafting standards and equipment preferences of clients or municipalities. Keep abreast of new products and technologies providing solutions to design/drafting issues.

Work closely within a goal-oriented team environment and support positive work experiences for self and co-workers.

Coordinates with other design disciplines for design package needs.

Other duties and responsibilities assigned by the immediate supervisor as deemed appropriate.

Use sheet set manager, Autodesk Civil 3D, and other advanced CAD tools in completing assignments.


Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
