Position Purpose:
Manage customer relationships and facilitate the sales of rubber, gasket, hose, and belting products from within the branch location. This role involves processing orders, providing product information, and working closely with customers to ensure satisfaction. The position plays a critical role in meeting customer needs and supporting branch operations.


Goals of Position:

Deliver Exceptional Service: Provide accurate product solutions and ensure timely order fulfillment.

Be a Team Player: Work efficiently with internal departments, including the shop/warehouse and delivery teams.

Take Initiative: Identify ways to improve processes and customer service.

Focus on Solutions: Address challenges constructively and maintain a customer-first approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Customer Support: Respond to inquiries about product availability, pricing, and delivery timelines via phone, email, or in person, providing technical assistance as needed. 
  • Order Management: Process orders, prepare quotes, create invoices, and track order status to ensure timely and accurate delivery. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the fabrication team to confirm product specifications and assist the warehouse team with inventory needs. 
  • Problem-Solving: Address customer concerns independently when possible, escalating complex issues to management when necessary. 
  • Time Management: Prioritize multiple requests and urgent orders effectively while maintaining a high level of service.  Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or in person regarding product availability, pricing, and delivery timelines.

Major Challenges:

·         Occasionally lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.

·         Frequent sitting, standing, and walking within the office, warehouse, and shop.

·         Occasionally required to bend, stoop, and reach.

·         Must be able to talk and hear effectively.

Work Environment

·         Work in an office and warehouse environment with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and industrial equipment.

·         May encounter fluctuating indoor temperatures.

·         Potential exposure to airborne particles, fumes, or loud noise levels.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of industrial products, such as hose, gaskets, and belting (preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/CRM systems.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Authority

  • Act Alone:
    • Enter and process customer orders.
    • Provide product information and pricing within established guidelines.
  • Touch Base with Supervisor:
    • Address issues with product availability or lead times
  • Need Approval from Supervisor:
    • Apply discounts beyond standard pricing. 
    • Approve changes to customer delivery schedules or priorities.

Education and Experience:

  • Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent

 

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

·         Must have a valid, active Driver’s License with an insurable driving record
