About the role

We're looking for a strategic leader to join Rippling's Global Payroll Operations team. We are rapidly expanding Rippling to serve the needs of employees and employers all over the world. Our Global Payroll Operations team plays a critical role in ensuring the success of our global payroll products, which are natively built and fully integrated with Rippling's broader suite of products.

As Rippling expands its product offerings globally, there is a critical business need for Rippling to develop new muscles around global product operations and country-specific payroll expertise outside of the US. This role, Global Payroll Operations Supervisor (Brazil), is a critical leadership hire to scale our payroll operations in Brazil, one of Rippling's key growth markets in Latin America.

This role will own all operational payroll work in Brazil (responsible for executing on-time, compliant payroll) and the launch of both new customers and new product lines in-market. Additionally, this role will focus on scaling a high-performance team, ensuring both professional development of the team and zero-defect operations. This is an exciting role that requires significant cross-departmental engagement with a major impact on the product, customer experience, and internal team.

What you will do

  • Drive key product launches and customer implementations in Brazil; ensure R&D has the correct set of requirements and Ops has the right resourcing and SOPs
  • Supervising the end-to-end payroll implementations for new Brazilian customers, configuring and validating local payroll software (including Senior) alongside Rippling's native payroll product
  • Motivate and lead a team of payroll operations specialists to execute on-time payroll and ensure that the team delivers services in line with business and customer expectations
  • Hire and train new team members to support our market expansion and scaling operations in Brazil
  • Drive your team's performance to ensure we are executing and meeting performance KPIs
  • Monitor and report on the team's progress to ensure requirements, KPIs and deadlines are met
  • Facilitate training and development initiatives to build a skilled and high-performing team
  • Develop best-in-class processes to scale day-to-day operations. Your goal is to create repeatable processes that eliminate room for manual error; these processes should be easy to learn, easy to expand to new use cases, and easy to measure
  • Manage customer and employee inquiries via cases efficiently and effectively — ensuring SLAs, quality, and resolution standards are consistently met across the team
  • Support your team in driving issue resolution by communicating with government agencies (eSocial, INSS, Receita Federal, FGTS, Caixa), tax authorities, partners, and directly interfacing with customers to resolve issues on their behalf
  • Drive automated solutions that enable better efficiency and process improvement
  • Work closely with Global Payroll Engineering and Product teams to ensure that:
  • Natively built payroll software supports key Brazilian payroll and tax compliance requirements (eSocial, INSS, FGTS, 13th salary, férias, rescisão, and related statutory obligations)

What you will need

  • Minimum of 7+ years in a Brazilian payroll processing role, and minimum of 3+ years managing payroll operations personnel
  • Previous experience managing teams (6+ people)
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end Brazilian payroll procedures and regulations, including INSS, FGTS, eSocial, IRRF, 13th salary, férias, and rescisão/termination calculations
  • Hands-on expertise running local payroll software such as Senior, with the ability to configure, troubleshoot, and validate payroll outputs
  • Proven experience leading customer implementations and onboarding in Brazil, including data migration, parallel runs, and go-live support
  • Previous experience handling in-house payroll processing and via partner/BPO payroll providers
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to juggle ad-hoc projects alongside day-to-day operations
  • Strong experience with Google Suite or Microsoft Office, especially Docs/Sheets/Excel, for data analysis and task organization; familiarity with Salesforce queues, JIRA, and Confluence a plus
  • Working experience with payroll-related systems and software
  • Fluency in Portuguese and strong English communication skills
