About Rippling

Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.

Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.85B from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

We prioritise candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.

About the role

You are the specialist for Australian payroll compliance, including Modern Awards, Single Touch Payroll (STP), superannuation, and long service leave, for Rippling's customers.

You are the definitive internal and external resource on how Australian payroll compliance requirements are configured and maintained in Rippling, including Modern Award interpretation, enterprise agreements layered on top of awards, and how these connect to STP reporting, superannuation, and long service leave obligations. Payroll is your primary focus but you will also take on general customer cases that are not directly tied to payroll, supporting Australian Technical Account Managers(TAMs) and Account Managers (AMs) across the broader book.

What you will do

  • Payroll & Compliance Configuration Audits - Review live customers' Modern Award setup, STP mapping, superannuation, and long service leave configuration to identify errors, inefficiencies, or compliance gaps and deliver clear remediation recommendations
  • Modern Awards Enablement - Train customer admins on how Modern Awards are configured and maintained in Rippling, including annual award updates, and identify optimisation opportunities.
  • Report and policy configuration - Build complex reports and configure payroll-related policies, including Modern Award and enterprise agreement requirements, to support accurate compliance analysis, customer audits, and scalable operational processes.
  • Feedback loop to Product - Capture structured feedback on payroll and compliance performance, surfacing recurring themes and Australia-specific insights to Product and Engineering
  • Enterprise Account Health Checks - Run post-implementation health checks and configuration audits for high-value Enterprise accounts as Modern Award and compliance requirements evolve
  • Internal TAM/AM Enablement - Serve as an internal knowledge resource, upskilling TAMs and AMs on Australian payroll compliance
  • Structured engagement delivery - Provide documented findings and next steps from every engagement and drive engagements initiated reactively by TAMs/AMs or proactively where risk or complexity warrants it
  • Training asset development - Build reusable training assets covering Australian payroll compliance best practices, plus internal enablement materials for TAMs, AMs, and IMs
  • Scaled enablement through webinars - Host recurring 1:many adoption webinars and cohort-based Modern Award briefings that drive platform adoption and walk customers through annual award changes before they become support tickets
  • General case support - Take on customer cases outside of payroll and compliance as needed, in support of the broader Australian TAM/AM team

What you will need

  • 3+ years of SaaS experience in payroll process, consulting, implementation, or support, with strong, hands-on experience in Australian Modern Awards interpretation and application
  • Deep working knowledge of Australian payroll compliance, including Modern Awards, STP, superannuation, and long service leave
  • Passion for helping customers and colleagues
  • Ruthless prioritisation and time management
  • Ability to explain complex payroll and compliance scenarios in simple, clear written or verbal communications
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to solve complex, interdependent configuration problems
  • Comfort handling general, non-payroll customer cases alongside a payroll-first specialisation
  • Interest in actively working with product and engineering teams to feed Australia-specific product gaps into the roadmap
